Alice and Aubert eventually found themselves facing each other in the corridor leading to the Princess' quarters. The closer they got, the more nervous Aubert felt as that meant he would soon meet the children that he together with Alice conceived.

"I know this wasn't the best start, you giving birth to our children alone and... thinking I had vanished forever but... There was no other choice, I hadn't ensured I would be even accepted among the Council ranks... And thus exposing you to a great danger." He began explaining, remaining firm in his stance although barely looking into Alice's eyes.
