This is definitely a case of a player not understanding the difference between what is literally happening (the Junker profiting off of trade in Corasir area) and what is happening in a role play sense (supplies being brought to the Corsairs and exports leaving Corsair area). The player doesn't see his wallet increase - so he thinks you are bad. Too bad the freelancer game software isn't more dynamic in its economy. If every correctly tagged corsair magically got a dividend from the trading going on.
But most of us realize the game software takes us only so far and we have to fill in the rest.
When my IMG character flies into corsair territory I try to alway have a load of something they need - even if it is just water. The official faction Corsairs I meet tend to appreciate this and it helps build relationships. Some of the TBH recognise me and call out to me now.
typical conversation:
"This is IMG Starless Black bringing Food Rations to Crete..."
"Proceed amigo, I'm hungry..."
