Greetings,
this is Flight Officer Michal T. Stark reporting in the name of Captain Khaaros of the Colonial cruiser Praclarus Taonas.
We were undergoing a battlestations training mission in Cortez system, when we were forwarded a Call to Arms order by a Colonial Movers pilot Valos Kor of the Taoth Vaclarush vessel.
There was a report of several Gallic capital vessels raiding the Leeds system and all available units were to report. Captain Khaaros ordered immedeate hyperdrive jump, but when the jump sequence completed and we arrived to the target destination, there were no Gallic ships on our radar.
It soon turned out that the Gallic fleet fled, and whether it was a reaction of the event to come or not, we were happy. But the worst was on our doorstep.
We were finishing a patrol route near the Leeds -> Tau-31 jumpgate, when we detected an unknown hostile vessel on our radar. I have never seen anything like before, the scans were reading massive life signatures from the hull structure, rather than metalic plating. It soon turned out it was the fabled Nomads battleship.
It jumped to Tau-31 system through the jumphole and Captain Khaaros ordered a pursuit. On the other side, a battle raged.
It took us a lot of time and many casualties of the joined Bretonian, Colonial, Council and IMG forces to take all 4 Nomad battleships down, but in the wake of destruction, we stood victorious. For a price though.
After we tractored in as many lifepods as we could, we were to return home for repairs, but we got another warning about approaching Gallic forces. The Valors had returned. 4 of them.
The remaining battle-able forces in the area were not enough to counter the Gallic attack though, so we had to issue a retreat. Safety of the survivors was a priority.
During the retreat, we sustained some damage to sublight engines, hull and life-support, rendering the cruiser Praclarus Taonas unoperationable for a few days. The massive repairs have already been issued on Sabah Shipyaard though.
Michal T. Stark out.
