Well, even with limited mobility and transport shields, 12 cruiser turrets is still quite a bit of firepower for an over-sized transport, imo.
Well, this is also very dependent on the skills of the pilots involved, as is your example of the inept escorts. I would still see such a barge as just as vulnerable to a skilled bomber pilot(s). What about the suggestion of GB missle turrets?
You've given a lot of defense to your own suggestion....do you have any feedback on mine, aside from suggesting I'm an unthinking moron? Or, do you regard the Barge's apparent vulnerability to bombers as its only flaw worth addressing?
If you actually read anything, you'd see my FIRST post that you were talking trash about actually included a suggestion of increasing its cruise speed to 180 m/s, as well as several other things regarding changes to the Barge, defensive buffs were not the only thing I mentioned.
The issue of escorts being unable to kill bombers is due to having unskilled escorts. Even a skilled escort will have trouble trying to kill a bomber who flies circles hugging the hull of the Barge.
No, 12 cruiser turrets on a Barge would not be deadly. Just THINK for a second. Do you know what the Liberty Carrier is? It's smaller and faster than a barge and has 27 battleship turrets as well as a battleship shield. Even that can be killed by bombers. Now, give it a transport shield, a gunboat power core, and 12 regular cruiser turret slots, then make it bigger and slower. Are you seriously going to try to tell me that it would be a lot of firepower? You said earlier in another post that it would be a "superfortress". I guarantee you that if you had the barge, even with the buffs I'm proposing, it would not be overpowered. I would still be able to kill you with a bomber alone if you did not have escorts.
It's obvious that you simply have no sense of actual combat balance, I'm not going to bother repeating myself any longer. You're just another ignorant person who thinks just because something gets a buffed it's automatically overpowered.
