You know, of all the responses I received, it was yours that seemed most genuine. Further, you are quite correct in your assertion. Desperation is, unfortunately, a frame of mine that is becoming increasingly familiar to me as time drags on.

Circumstances must; however, dictate caution in who I reveal my identity and situation to. From the records I have been able to access, violating that secrecy prematurely could cost me very dearly indeed. So, for now at least, I hope you can forgive me if I deal in generalities.

As you may have gathered from this signal's origin, I am currently posted to the Taus on behalf of the Royal Navy. A... Superior of mine has displayed worrying behavior as of late, and I am concerned he may be subject to nomadic influence. Whether the erratic nature of her behavior is due to the recent encounters we have had with the creatures is beyond my ability to say.

I find most things to do with those creatures are. I feel like I'm trapped in an underwater cavern and expected to fight a leviathan without so much as a torch. I don't even understand what it is I am supposed to be fighting, much less how to.

I was hopeful your organisation could, if nothing else, lend me a torch.
