He took a breath and turned to her with a soft smile, "Thank you for that. I figured that was just an old cliche but as my old friend told me awhile back, I need to keep things in perspective."
He perked up just a little, smiling softly simply at the thought of her next to him, "I guess I should focus more one what a lady wants next time.....if I get a next time."
He didn't want to sound overconfident but continued, "Her hopes, her desires, dreams. Does she want a family of her own and of course, can she put up with my life style are all questions I would need answers to."
He gave her a nice smile, "I have pretty much what I want, well, almost.....but I'm......comfortable."

Still, the more he learned about her, the more he was around her, the more he liked her. He then turned the tables on her a bit.
"So, what do I need to know or what don't know about you?" he returned. "I know you're very smart. I know you're pretty much alone in the world, well, besides your colleagues and I know that you're a pretty young woman. I just figured you would have something I don't know that I need to or you just want me to know."
He smiled a bit before he took a drink of his water as he awaited her answer.
