I suggest something like Weapons data (for development), Intel (from most factions bought in Guard bases), or Old Nav maps for Museums in planets or some stations, Plutonium and Uranium too or some radioactive stuff for ALG and more Weapon and technology development
Yeah secret intel would be an awesome commodity to trade and RP with.
It'd also be cool to see some more types of vehicles, (i know we have military vehicles) such as aircraft/boats/trucks etc
I second that.
For example, rather huge price for selling prototypes or plans onto pirate or hostile bases (Liberty-Rheinland War perhaps), but when found in cargo - fines are either really high or even out of question. Like, LN wouldn't do much. RM would just fine as well. But if intelligence guy caught you, even several million bribe will not do and extermination (after the factual RP) takes place.
To prevent instant enrichment, I would propose this commodity made in four or five different versions (for each lawful house - or three so far, because of Gallic, Libertonian and Rheinland prototypes) with long possible routes - enemy militaries will pay way more than pirates of course. It could even take 20 cargo, because of nature of such item and proposed price - ten million creds for delivery? Twenty? Fifty for the most risky cargo to be smuggled, as even possession of such cargo would be considered instant execution for treason and spying?
Imagine that. No trader would even risk shipping that. But a little, fast and agile fighter? Hum hum...
Sounds interesting, but VERY imbalanced.
Just imagine a 5K transporting this commodity, that's 250 Secret Intels, assuming they sell for 10 million and take up 20 cargo space, that's 2.5 BILLION CREDITS, it would either need to not be transportable by anything bigger than a VHF (which is the preferred option, it would be nice to see intel runners in light fighters), or it would need to take up MUCH more cargo space, like high hundreds or even in the thousands, OR, it could sell for much-much less, like around 250k, while maintaining a 20-ish cost on cargo space.
I understand the risk factor, but let's be honest, all it would take is a power-trader one night with low server population to make enough credits to buy a Barge the next morning. There needs to be more effort and time devoted to earn that many credits, and this is coming from a proud power-trader.
I like idea of 250k, but still makes using trader senseless and using LF... very unprofitable. That commodity was in fact projected for LF in fact... Eh. I dunno, you are right there... And I thought it was a good idea.
