Let's say the team allowed this. How long before people start demanding say a Cloak Disruptor be shot off their ship? Do you think it would be fair to lose a multimillion piece of equipment like that?

Nobody suggested such a thing. A cloak disruptor is worth over a hundred million credits, some transport turrets are not. Demanding to shoot one off would not happen or be tolerated for the same reason that it's not ok to demand 100 million credits from a passing trader.

Yes, but you have helped me emphasize my point perfectly - Where is the line drawn in such things? And people will continue to search for that line. And soon we would be overun with rules laywering and screeds of walltext for rules that no one with a spare week would read.

You argue that and I quote "This is an RP server" yet you want to bring encounters when there will be more //whispermustdothisOORPinfo discussion to the player who is also seeking RP's and think this is OK then you have me all wrong, bring the OORPness I say. No I'm kidding.

Surprisingly I don't see any //OORP lines from Spazzy during their encounter from the youtube vid he provided, yet I can still understand what the character wanted to communicate. Oh wait, it's not that surprising at all, honestly all you need is a little bit more skill at speech comprehension and a little bit of logic.
