And yes, smuggling is also an unlawful activity.

No. No! NO! Don't make guy confused here.

By unlawful actions, the ID rules means actions which means piracy and destruction of lawful faction ships. Nothing else. If it wasn't the case, Freelancer ID wouldn't be able to smuggle Cardamine, Slaves, etc. Smuggling according to the ID rules is not unlawful action.

What doesn't mean it is not against local laws of the Houses and you can be in roleplay fined for doing that.

Since we are talking about Freelancer ID and I got clarification regarding what is 'escort' and 'hired on spot', here we go:

- Escorting is protection of a transport concluding trading (it includes smuggling) activities - if you do not have transport and/or you do not trade, it's not escorting.

- Being hired on spot falls under bounty hunting line and it is working alongside your employer to combat things. Only non-generic (e.g. LPI, Kruger, Dragon) ID can hire on spot.

- Pirate ID cannot hire on spot for combat, but it can hire escort only if Pirate ID flies a transport and trades goods.

- The same logic applies to Miner ID and Freelancer ID - both of which can only hire for escort job. This means FL ID gunboat cannot hire snubs for protection, because it is 'hiring on spot' - not escort job (see above).
