Doreen just smiled. "No, Bennie made a friend while we've been here. He's in playing. He'll sleep well on the trip......" She then yawned, "As will I. It's been a long day for us both.
She picked up her glass and swirled her wine, "Yes, the Gauls are good for something." She took a sip and put the wine down, "It's become my favorite so having a steady supply is good."
For the moment, she felt kind of special almost to the point of feeling like a little girl on the inside again. It was a good feeling. She listened as Frank told his story with her arms folded on the table in front of her. A light smile crossed her face when he offered residency.
"If it tells you anything, Mr. Atreides, everything I own is on my ship and my Houston condominium is on the market," she explained, "the only place I have to go right now IS Yuma. The only place Benjen has to go IS Yuma. I'll kind of need a job to take care of us."
She sat back a bit, "I don't know how my name crossed your leadership but someone knew of me enough, cared enough and realized my situation to make a recommendation. Right now, I am all the Bennie has and vice versa. Failure isn't option for us."
"As to leaving, once the contents of my hold are transferred, I can be ready. It's mostly clothing, medical equipment and my son's toys," she continued, "all I ask is that the medical equipment is handled carefully."
