Ryo is watching the two kids going away and he is thinking that they are innocent and how lucky they are ... But he soon gets out of his daydream. He sees Doreen taking a seat and he coughs to signal the start of the talk.
"Dr. Doreen, I know I said a dinner will be involved and trust me, after this meeting and not related to the result, we will have it. But now, we need to address the issue at hand. " Ryo smiles as he is checking his pad.
"Doctor, we know who you are. Chief Medical of Gran Canaria, you treated on some of our pilots during operation Scarecrow in the Omegas and the Operation Lost of the 88th Battlegroup. Also there are reports from the Crayterians from the Tau Chi Rho group that encounter you in the Omega 49. Your abilities to run a medical crisis had been appraised. " Ryo is looking at some numbers and he looks towards Rio and smile " Doctor Rio is our chief medical but we decided that she needs the best help to take care of our injuries."
" We run at the moment 4 medical islands here on Yuma, 2 centers on Pecos and a mobile unit had been arranged on Minato, despite the damage. But our people are getting injured daily. Because of the War mainly and also different accidents. We are also proud that we have the top medical facilities in this area and that we are ready to treat any kind of injury. But for that I will let Dr. Rio speak."
Dr Rio smiles and she is speaking in a soft and calming voice. " We at the moment treat maimed soldiers and pilots, burn wounds, fragmentation wounds and all you can think in the matter of war. The wounds are various." she coughs " Also we are treating the refugees from Leeds that manage to get away and also work accidents. So basically we are having military type wounds and civilian."
Ryo thanks Rio with a head nod and he continues " As you can see, our hands are pretty full and we want the best quality treatment for our soldiers and civilians. And here is why we called you. We want to offer you a position at Yuma Medical and your own Medical Installation to run. But .... " Ryo watches Rio putting her hand at her ear and she listens and then she looks preoccupied
" Sorry for the interruption, but "Atlantis" got hit in Tau 23 on a recon mission. We were contacted by the Ares ships saying they are bringing 34 crew men in critical condition. I have to go. Nice to meet you Doreen and I hope you will accept the offer. As you can see, we are pretty busy. Sorry again" she says and she is rushing out of the meeting.
Ryo stands up and he looks as she is storming up the room, amazed by her dedication, he slowly turns towards Doreen and replies " I am sorry Doctor, as you can see , our lives are dynamic. While you study this offer, can my colleagues have a look at your dossier ? And then if you are interested, I have a second proposition to you, which is going to be explained by Mr Corvin and Mr Dean."
