The office paperwork was complete ahead of schedule, i had a quick snac and ordered DSM)-T.Executive be prepared for immediate departure. Because of the recent Silver requirements increase, we are forced to expand the Elysium facilities. FInally we will be doing something besides spending time in the Sonora Ice Field. I expect the trips to be somewhat uneventful, but it is never a certanty.
The ship and crew were prepared withing 25 minutes and we set of to our destination: Trenton Outpost, New York system
The crew was eager to deliver the materials, they were most engaged. Some minor engineering issues occured during the California system pass. Because the mallfunction was somewhat strange i ordered a full spectral sensory anallisys. After a brief period of time, the reports concluded it was residue radiation from a leftover destroyed vessel. It interfered with the ships sensors showing a false engineering problem. Will have to warn other Sirians as we go along. I surely dont want civilians to think something is faulty with their equipment
California pass was peaceful, so the crew had time to minggle and interact. I must admit, they are the most cheereful bunch i ever met, even in the face of danger they somehow manage to muster a joke, God bless'em.
New York jump is always a pleasure, somehow i feel more at home there, than any other system. I always thought that a saying " Home is where your roots are ", was truly missleading, but i canot explain the feeling of warmth every time i enter here.
And finally, the crew and I, gazed upon the beauty that is - Trenton Outpost. A marvelous piece of station technology i must say. The crew can take a 30 minute break while the cargo is fully loaded
As the cargo bay was full, navigations officer Hannah set a course to our home - Vespucci system. Lane after lane, we were getting closer to California. At West point we met an officer of the law. We greeted him and had a short conversation with a man. According to him, his patrol duty is also uneventful today, which is sad for him but good news for corporate and freelancing traders.
Next was California again, but this time, just before we jumped, I ordered a full stop in front of the opened gate. As the jump sequence began i was stricken with a realization. I never took the time, to view the full beauty before my eyes.
As the gate openes and initiates the jump sequence, there is a marvelous lights display mixed with ion particles and antimatter conversion. It looks as if some unknown force in side the Jump Gate is dancing with the surrounding stars. I cant believe that i made so many jumps in the past, failing to stop for a moment and reckognize this beutifull display.
Its a good thing we took the California Minor lane route to Magellan. As we approached the planet, Ensign Croft begun to studder:
" Umm, eeer, Mr. Gunsmith sir, i a... well.... "
Mr.Gunsmith: " What is it ensign, speak your mind."
Ensign Croft: " Well, you see, my daughter had her 11th birthday today, and in between all the work, i just had no time to buy her a present. But i dont want to be a hassel so maybe its better if we.... "
Mr.Gunsmith: " Nonsense ensign, say no more. God forbid we leave a young lady Croft sad and without a present on her birthday. To all hands!! Prepare for landing on California Minor!! Ensign, you pick up that present and since we are here, we will have lunch. Im craving for those California Minor's famous chicken wings. "
My God those blasted chicken wings. I havent eaten this good in months, im seriously thinking of kidnaping one of their cheff's, or at least blackmailing the man in to working for me, hehehehhe.
We finally set of home, at this point i was eager to see Elysium and Mrs. Gunsmith of course. Lucy always thinks im working too hard. Sometimes i think i dont spend enough time with her and im afraid it could back fire on me one day.
Through Magellan asteroid field, whichi is one of the worst i have ever seen, we finally reached Vespucci. I couldnt help but silently mutter:
" Home sweet home."
Landing at Elysium took more time than usual. Reason?? Well, simply put, the traders love our efficien Silver Ore production, so the landing docks were overcrowded to say the least.
We unloaded yet a third cargo hold for today and i decided it was snough
Time for a break and take Mrs.Gunsmith out for dinner. Somehow i dont think anything will match those damn good chicken wings i had earlier today
