"making mining slower because leaves low time for pirates"
Maybe in the outta-way systems thats truth, but in o-7 you simple cannot mine during day. I have, RHA, Hess indies, SCRA, Sairs, IMG, BMM their mothers, pets and employess (and those employees pets too!) pirating at o-7, they dont need more time, to bring cruisers to pirate miner in hegemon...
Some things (as gold in Dublin, is the worst one ive tried till now) you need start game with no effects, a low resolution, the exact match of ship+id+iff to get just a reasonable time. so i would suggest change a litlle that gold field at dublin, either more rocks or whatanot, dunno.
All tests I did were in Dublin. I hardly see any pirates there. I have dust disabled anyway because I never saw the point in it. More rocks would probably be a good idea.
The thing you said about right ship+id+iff is exactly the point I was making. Would be better if BMM didnt have at least double the bonus of everyone else.

Thats a thing i feel hurting "pure trade factions" either factions who can field (in combat) max gb class ships get the "good *****" in mining bonus(and then thats just in OF ID), or then let everyone field everything, cuz the way it is.... hard to disput ppl with other factions, unless they dont give a ***** to nothing and joining for the sake of joining. If you make same in a faction where u use since surveyor to mine, up to battleships and cruisers. and in an other faction where i need ask permission to buy a gb from gov... well u get the idea.
The caps are kind of a different issue, but it makes it easier to let noobs participate if they didnt need to make a new char for every little thing. Makes them harder to recognize and remember, and especially in the beginning people prefer to make one or two good ships and play with those.
So I'd say... make versatile ships not completely useless when it comes to mining (which is the subject right now), people can always specialize and get a little more bonus per rock if they want to make the really big bucks.
