Applicant Name: Pierre Vincent du Petit Thouars
Applicant Gender: Homme
Applicant Age: 31st of March 683 AGS, 57 years old
Health
Please go through your medical/fitness review and allow your reviewing doctor/instructor to fill this out for you.
Applicant Height: 1.8 m
Applicant Health(underline the correct): Passed / Special / Failure
Notes: The patient shows visible signs of obesity and, combined with it, his age is starting to take its toll. The patient is suffering from mild Kyphosis, Diabetes Type Two and Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia, the second of which is aggravated by his gourmandism. The third seems to be related with what looks like a possible "vibrant life" the patient lived when he was younger. Daily consumption of wine has saved his heart, but it was not good for his liver. His brain seems to still be unaffected, but I advise a reduction in alcohol. Eyesight is good for his age, but deteriorating due to diabetes, and I would advise glasses or contact lenses. The patient is not used to considerable physical effort, especially not one requiring endurance, and he does not handle g-force increase well, so I would not recommend him for ground combat or for fast craft piloting. Additionally, he is allergic to strawberries and he should take more care about his body and mouth hygiene. No radiation poisoning detected.
Applicant Fitness(underline the correct): Passed / Requires Training/ Failure
Notes: I need a mechanic here. The applicant fell asleep on the treadmill after five minutes of light jogging and it broke down.
Motivations: As some of your personnel can confirm, the Tonnant, which I am the captain of, was the spearhead of today's raid into the California System. We defeated the Liberty Navy fleet that was sent against us, most of the enemy capital ships falling to my ship's turrets. Then we returned to our territory before Liberty could send another, larger fleet. While my ship was the vanguard during our breakthrough, she was at the rearguard of our fleet during our tactical retreat. We ensured that the fleet remained intact, but we ourselves were caught by the pursuing and vindictive Liberty Navy ships. We managed to destroy a gunboat, but there were too many of them for us alone, and the Tonnant's lights went out before reinforcements could arrive. This might seem usual, as the Tonnant is, according to statistics, the first on the list of Royal Navy ships that suffer the most damage per battle on average, but I am afraid that her lights might have gone out for the last time today. It appears that a light mortar managed to penetrate a soft point on one of our engine exhaust, all the way to the engine room. The staff that was supposed to turn the engine off seems to have been incapacitated, so we had a meltdown. The ship is irradiated and not safe for human dwelling any more. She will need to be towed back to Gallia, and I hope our experts back home have a cure for her. I am writing this from the Betheny.
I do not have a ship to command any more, and what remains of my crew is idle, too. I am requesting transfer to the Marine Royale and another battleship to command. If we are left idle, it would be a waste of experience. I believe I have been fighting on this front since before we invaded the Leeds System, as well as some of my crew.
Questionnaire
On a scale to ten, how would you rate your piloting ability?: 9/10, battleships. I used to fly a fighter, but that was many decades ago.
What are your skills?: Commanding a battleship, organizing a capital fleet, administration, dancing, fencing.
Describe the Kingdom's primary enemies:
The Kingdom of Bretonia: A parliamentary monarchy in the south-western part of Sirius. They might be on the same cultural level as us, but it is evident that their parliamentarism and more concern with interests of the individual than those of the state has rendered them comparatively very weak militarily. Although their system might seem attractive to a commoner, a commoner does not see far enough to know that their system would be harmful for Gallia in the long run, and so they need to be conquered or turned into a vassal before they can influence more of our peasants.
The Republic of Liberty: A nominally democratic state in the centre of Sirius. Analysis shows that they are the most powerful state in Sirius, but their military is still weaker than ours. Their name is another word for "freedom", but they are an example of how free capitalism usurped the basic freedoms of every man. Their people are, if not de iure then de facto, owned by their corporations, and each of them is worth a certain sum of money. Additionally, I find having to watch half an hour of toothpaste advertisements after every ten minutes of neural net show annoying. I would not like that in Gallia, and I would be glad if we instated them our system instead. I also hear that some of them literally sleep on money, which could help remedy the economic issues that will surely arise in Gallia after our immense and exhausting conquest. My crew and I expect a fair share of it, based on our contributions.
The Council: A secessionist self-styled "state" in Gallia that wants to rearrange it and turn it into a democracy (and probably murder me, a vicomte, or at least steal my land). I admit them that their ideas are attractive, to the commoners, but they would decentralize and divide Gallia, as they already are doing. If we compare the state with the human body, in democracy every man is the brain. But, the brain needs blood to survive, blood needs the heart to pump it, the heart needs food to work, food needs the jaw to chew it, and the jaw needs muscles to chew. Someone has to be the muscle. It is not easy work, but someone has to do it. The Council are a pack of lazy men, and I believe that the hard working ones will prevail, as they always have in history. I am proud to be the King's fist.
Outcasts: I believe they live off on smuggling and selling some addictive drug? I do not know the specifics, but I know that I do not want that in Gallia.
Crayter Republic: I am not sure who they are, but they seem to be a republic , the King has commanded that they be conquered, and I obey the King. We destroyed two of their carriers yesterday.
I am sorry if I failed to mention others, but I have never found them important enough in battle.
While on patrol, you encounter a small wing of Council fighters. They spot you, and begin threatening your life unless you disable your craft and surrender to their cause. You are outgunned and the nearest friendly patrol that would bring the tide to your favour is ten minutes away from you. What will you do?:
Attack.
During one of your flights, you encounter an escape pod or a malfunctioning ship. The person inside is speaking in Sirian tongue and is asking for immediate help. If you wait any longer, the pilot will perish horribly. What will you do?:
As far as I remember, the order not to take prisoners, given by Grande Maréchalle Lucie LeBlanc a couple of years ago, has never been canceled.
What is your S.K.Y.P.E. ID?:
debeli_boda
Will you always remain rational and calm, follow orders, even if the situation could not be worse?:
I will always follow orders, if they are properly conveyed, but I cannot promise to stay rational and calm at all times. I admit that I sometimes take pleasure in participating in this war. "War is delightful to those who have not seen it", they say. They are either cowards, or losers. There is nothing better than savour in large quantities of wine while triumphantly flying above a trace of burning wrecks -- which you have made.
