@Jinx: I never considered the Kusari gb to be an option, since Kusari has a certain distrust of the gajin BH. And thus, very unlikely would they sell any military hardware to a BH.
The Rheinland gb seems to maneuver like school bus driving on flat tires. And it's coyote ugly - a veritable duplo-lego ship. Besides, RM wouldn't much care for a BH piloting one of their ships. I am compelled, on occasion, to travel through Rheinland space. I have a working relationship with RM and would like to keep it that way.
As far as "stealing" a ship goes - not my style. Not worth the aggravation, either.
This gs topic has gotten me to thinking about the culture on this server and how I participate in this culture. I do like to win (like most people), but I don't consider myself to be a "win at all costs" type. I try to play fair and take others into consideration, all the while rping, with variable success. That's why I started to think about switching from the BH gs to another gb.
One side of this little dilemma are those who think it's a ship with godlike abilities. My view is subjective, but I would still argue that the gs is not a godlike, pwnzr ship. Not even with mk 8 cap armor. Anyone worth his salt can beat a gs in a Lunchbox. Been there, done that, got blown up.
Nonetheless, the gs elicits a lot of negative feelings from the more active forum readers. It's too small, too evasive, too many guns, too much cargo space, too many used, et cetera et ad nauseum. It's apparent, that this ship cramps some peoples' style. In a way, I can understand this. I don't want to go out of my way to make someone miserable.
On the otherside of this dilemma is me trying to enjoy a game. To be honest, I don't see that happening much from the cockpit view of the Orca in its current state. I don't see why, that a large, well-financed, battle-hardened guild gets stuck with something like the Orca. Don't these guys take on Sirius' most hardened criminals, a reputed terrorist organization and an alien menace?
BH are often in situations facing overwhelming odds and serious enemy hardware, but they get a gb with a front gun that can't hit the neutron star in Omega-41. Ok, that was pure hyperbole, but you get my point. Ok, you can hit an Osiris with one, but try the same shot against an IMG gb or even a Lunchbox. Good luck and may the Schwarz be with you. Odd that I can hit the same targets with a Liberty gb but not with the Orca.
I should be able to lead my target, aim and hit that same target without performing some funky acrobatics that leave me very exposed to return fire. Myself and other BHs aren't asking for doomsday ship to pwn all pwnzrs, just one that makes the enemy work hard for a kill. A ship worthy of the Guild, i.e. a fixed Orca.
@Athenian: Don't worry mate. I don't think that the gs will be put in dry dock just yet. Against all instincts of self-preservation, I guess I'll buy an Orca as a second ship just to make the "bad guys" happy once in a while. Playing on this sever is an exercise of give and take.
