It's been over a year since Charlotte's disappearance. I tried to get answers, but none were found. Every single official or intelligence officer I've asked seemed to be ignorant that this has ever happened, and dismissed it as if it's normal that people go missing. Preposterous. I'm afraid it doesn't seem like it will be possible to learn anything from any source I have; I think it's time to try alternative ones.

It seems like my concern over the Roi has been well-founded. Over time, I've managed to observe a change in his mood and temperament. He's become quite volatile, to put it lightly - say something he doesn't want to hear, and you'll end up regretting your life choices that led you to the court room. Receive a ridiculous order that you can't accomplish, and you'll be stripped of everything you own. While he's still socialising like his usual self during events, you can clearly see that something has taken effect on him. Is it the war? It couldn't be. The entire Navy campaign was, and still is, an earth-shattering success. Perhaps it's old age.

Nevertheless, the Roi wishes to see me doing more than seeing over Orleanais, that is for certain. It started with subtle hints a year ago, but now it's become partial threats. It started making sense on why so many nobles were taking their own initiative to participate in the war - it probably wasn't something they originally intended doing, but the Roi's "motivation" isn't exactly something you can ignore. Is this why Charlotte first left? Whether that's the case or not, it seems like I'll have to be doing the same thing. I've received confirmation that I am now allowed to board one of the new military ships where I can act as an advisor to the captain, and head for the Tau systems. At the very least, this will give me the chance to find new sources regarding Charlotte.

I just wish this will end soon and everything will fall back in its place.
