I'm sorry, what's the problem here? This is starting to reek of inconsistency and double standards, and it isn't just the gulag anymore.
Personally I do not feel offended in any way.
When "Tsar" cannon was implemented, there were talks about how funny it looks. Nobody cared to demand its renaming tho due to reasons. One of the main reason is due to the reference to:
In both cases, "Tsar" was indicating "the biggest and most badass" rather than a reference to Tsar as a title. Mind, in second recent case it was a nickname, same as "Little Boy" that was thrown on Japan.
We are speaking, however, of the ship naming. Ships unlike the equipment are named very-very differently and in line with the ideology/military traditions/culture of a state. The ships also do not really use nicknames. That is not that difficult to know that US ships are USS, in Spanish ships those include the word "Armada", in the UK - HMS, etc, with proper name fitting for the country.
Again, just a bit of googling would have solved the issue. And people are reacting because it is being put by the OP as "serious stuff", not some lulwut indie cap.
