I have an urgent update for the High Command and all the fellow Corsairs.
Very recently I was doing a regular patrol in Omicron Xi when I noticed that my nav computer malfunctions: locations of sevaral known anomalies were erased. Quite baffled by the behaviour of the mighty corsair piece of equipment I went to the last known location of the jump hole to Omicron Beta, and... It was gone. Instead, in the vicinity of the old anomaly location there was another one. Guess where it leads, amigos? To Omicron Alpha! The Outcast nest is now two jumps away from our beloved home of Crete. But that's not all. Let me go gradually, though.
Noticing this I decided to make a brief stop at the "Delos". There I met the dreadnought CNS-Exterminador, to whom I shared my discovery of the fact that Omicrons layout went wacko. The captain understood the importance, and asked one of his men, senor Cesar Gutierrez of The Brotherhood to make me a company on investigative mission.
So together we headed on: system by system.
It all went astray, hermanitos.
We soon figured out that Xi is now also directly connected to Delta, a system also full of parties not very friendly to us. In Delta, a new connection appeared to a new system, identified as Omicron Zeta. I don't know why, but this system looked familiar, but also new... Very weird. Apart from Order and Core presence (we have spotted at least two Core battleships), there's also a station of that Zoner faction, Outworlders.
One of the Zoners politely shared a location of anomaly known to him in this system, which was a link to Omicron Minor. Of course, we went further to investigate. And that destination gave us a rather unexpected and insightful interaction. As soon as we emerged on the other side of the jump hole, we were greeted by the captain of the Order OCV-Aleppo.
From the dialogue we had with the captain, I can conclude that this sudden rearrangement came as a surprise for the Order as well. But the most important part is that the captain of the Order vessel treated us if not as allies, but at least as some kind of... partners, at least potential. He disclosed this: according to the Order intel, the Core are cooperating with the Maltese. This is a very alarming fact, if true, especially considering what I will conclude in the end. But let me continue. It will get even more surprising.
The captain of the OCV-Aleppo gave us coordinates of yet another new anomaly in the system, which leads to a previously completely unknown system, Omicron Nu. When we entered it... Well, let these few shots speak more than a thousand words:
But apart from that, near a quite habitable planet there's a graveyard of the Liberty Navy ships. Quite alive Libertonian fighters met us in the system, but they were dealth with accordingly.
The most unsettling part is that there is a jump hole to... Alaska! So now Liberty has a direct access to Omicrons, as if we hadn't have enough adversaries already. Not only that, it appears Liberty found a way to build some kind of... Jump gate to connect such distant parts of space.
Unwilling to see ugly Libertonian tech even more, we went back to finish the investigation of the Omicron Minor. Since the beginning of our mission I kept wondering where is the access to the less-famous Omicron Chi. Well, now it is from the Minor! And the Chi itself... In the beginning I though that the tequila was funny, but no, it wasn't that. For you see, the Omicron Chi is flipped, transposed even! What was left now right, what was up is now down and vice versa. I know it sounds strange, but it is most certainly true.
The moon of planet Vanuatu has a visible artificial structure. I suspect there can be even more artifacts than on Knossos. No wonder there's Order presence now in the system.
But now Chi cannot be called a system close to us. It is connected to Omicron Beta and Omicron Psi - a squid-infested dead system. When we tried to look inside it, we almost could ran with our lives.
Being rather exhausted after a long flight through radiation and empty space with no tequila or tacos we decided to head back through Beta, hoping its connections are not too messed up. Luckily, the old nomad gate brought us to Knossos atmosphere as expected. From there we went back home. On the way I showed the new Alpha connection from Xi to hermano Gutierrez, so he could see it with his own eyes.
After that we returned home to Crete. Hermano Gutierrez swiftly prepared a report on our discoveries for The Brotherhood, and the rest of the Corsairs, I highly recommend reading it for a fuller picture.
I, however, after a brief rest, decided to have a closer look at our once cozy backyard of Omicron Xi. The last discovery is very alarming: not only Xi is now accessible directly from Malta, but also from Omicron Rho, a hotbed of the Core gringos! Now I must reiterate the warning we received from the Order: these two may be cooperating. And now they both are so close to our homes. I believe it is an utmost importance to set up larger defences in Xi. It won't be long till they start roaming around as they please. The Order captain mentioned that there is a possibility that they could cooperate with the Empire, given the circumstances. It is up to the High Command to decide now what to do, but current situation puts the Empire in an uncomfortable position between several major enemies of us. However, a lot of diplomacy must be done to somehow deal with the Order/Coalition and Order/Blood Dragons alliances. However, it's pretty evident with such amount of pests around our glorious empire we need a proper pest control.
