Applicant Description
Biography:==BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION UPLOADED FROM THE DEFUNCT GALLIC ROYAL NAVY DATABASE== Being born on a space colony, even an advanced one like Montmartre, is no guarantee to an easy life. Damien grew up with his parents and little brother in a modern, but modest, apartment on the orbiting space station of planet new Paris. Not having much for himself, he always craved to one day fly into space, a feat rarely observed in his more than conservative family.
He first leaved his home station at the age of 16, when he was working as a crewman for a local Cigar importer. At the moment of the liftoff, he knew that space was the only path for him to take.
Wanting to achieve more than mere trading for the colony and having witnessed with his own eyes the nobility of the Gallic royal forces, he decided to save for a ship to call his own while studying and training the best he could to acquire a freelancer ID. It took him several years of dedication and hard work, but he managed to do it.
Flying his very own SunBeam, Rayon Céleste, he travelled through Gallic space, accepting spare jobs from the police and the army, trying to make a name for himself to join the great Gallic Royal Navy and pull his weight during the war. When he eventually did, he participated in a number of skirmishes, skilfully piloting Lynxes and Cougars. His battlefield experience didn't go unnoticed as he accepted, some time later, his first command: a Perilous class gunboat. Clearing the way from bombers for the glorious Valor class warships, he would go on to captain an Obstinate, if only for a few battles, during the tail end of the war.
After years of service Damien finally retired and decommissioned his now-veteran ships. For a time, he did enjoy a well earned respite from all the fighting. But now the Enclave has fractured Gallia, and he won't stand idle while his patrie needs him.
Motivations: I will not rest until Gallia is unified and strong again. L'union fait la force.
Skills: Steady hands on the stick, Battlefield mindfulness, courtois when needed, but fiercely dedicated otherwise
Questionnaire
On a scale to ten, how would you rate your piloting ability?: 8
Describe the Gallia's primary enemies:
The Enclave
Kusari Empire
While on patrol, you encounter a small wing of Enclave fighters. They spot you, and begin threatening your life unless you disable your craft and surrender to their cause. You are outgunned and the nearest friendly patrol that would bring the tide to your favour is ten minutes away from you. What will you do?:
Signal allies, then stall or die trying: Pour la patrie!
During one of your flights, you encounter an escape pod or a malfunctioning ship. The person inside is speaking in Sirian tongue and is asking for immediate help. If you wait any longer, the pilot will perish horribly. What will you do?:
Disabled equipment poses no threat: tractor-in the pilot, keep them in the hold and drop them off at the first base on the assignment's flight-path for processing.
Joining the Marine Nationale Gauloise means you will fight for Gallia and your people, but also for core Gallic values. Here is a list of values ; underline THREE of them that you think belong to core Gallic values, and explain your choice.
<HONOUR / FREEDOM / EDUCATION / DEMOCRACY / MERIT / WEALTH / DISCIPLINE / VALOUR / EQUALITY / STRENGTH>
Why those (one sentence per value is enough) : What would Gallia be without Liberté and Égalité? They are at the core of who we are, who I am, and what I fight for. As for valour, it is the warrior-heart of our nation.
Which is your favourite : Valour, as it fuels our resolve to do what's necessary, even when the odds are against us.
What is your Discord ID and timezone ?: Damien Chevalier, GMT-5
Will you always remain rational and calm, follow orders, even if the situation could not be worse?: Oui
