Commodore Christopher Edwards, Battleship Akhetaten, Coronado System, 21/03/828 A.S.
Yesterday turned out to be a rather full day. We hoped our operation in Kansas to go by undercover and with as little attention from the Insurgency as possible, but it seems our hopes were in vain. About an hour in, a Judicator belonging to the Insurgency spotted us from a large distance and closed in for a few minutes before turning away to notify the rest of their forces.
We weren't given enough time to evacuate the system as shortly afterwards a small Insurgency fleet of similar size to ours appeared on scanners. The Insurgency wasn't about to just let us leave after spotting us that deeply into their territory and without much second thought their fleet engaged ours in an effort to kick us out of the system.
Of course we weren't about to just turn away and run. I assumed command of our fleet, being the highest ranking member present. After a lengthy and hard fight the Liberty Navy was victorious, we successfully wiped out the entirety of the Insurgency fleet and made a rapid escape from Kansas, fearing that more of their ships may be undocking to finish what their allies could not. This battle in Kansas should be enough to keep the Insurgency off our feet for a while.
The Akhetaten suffered major damage from the hostile fleet but thankfully we did not mourn any casualties and safely reached the drydock back home. The Akhetaten is, by now, back to it's post in Coronado, docked on Planet Yuma. We are on a tight watch looking out for Nomad or Auxesia forces and monitoring their presence in the system - it should be noted that it has decreased over the past hours, news that are only positive to us.
