Reporting in,
Normally matters relating to SAR operations would be submitted via the proper channels, but circumstances today quickly elevated themselves past typical Search and Rescue.
Pensacola departed Norfolk not long past the hour, systems green and equipment and supplies stocked. Aside from an oddoccurrence as we were preparing to depart for Magellan, all was relatively quiet.
We arrived at Cordoba and took up alongside the freshly captured Battleship Discovery, and quickly saw to the wounded. Teams aboard rounded up 63 wounded, and reported 19 fatalities, including the ship's CO. Casualties were brought aboard to stabilize, with high-profile wounded set up in medical pods.
Once fresh escorts arrived, including Akhetaten from the 46th Fleet, we proceeded with towing of the ship through the way back to Norfolk. Pleased to report that no delays were sighted on the way, and Discovery was soon left in Norfolk's hands.
Following that delivery, one of our escorts of Witch Squadron reported a nearby Freelancer hauling illicitequipment, which appeared alien in origin. Witch pilot provided numerous opportunities for the Freelancer, but none were taken, and he soon engaged. During the fighting, an Outcast raider appeared, and promptly attacked the Witch pilot, bringing in our second escort. Pensacola evacuated to safe harbor before larger vessels could arrive.
We proceeded back to Norfolk for restocking and delivery of stabilized wounded.
I'm also very pleased to report that Pensacola recorded an impressive 367% engine core efficiency during our towing of the Discovery back to Norfolk. We had never had the opportunity before to test the ship's power before, but hopefully this will bode well for the future.
