Well today has been productive so far, I can comfortably say that much. I had uh, admittedly started my shift by signing out my ship for non-CDI duties. I know it is against policy, but, I had the need to go to the memorials today. I don't want to get into it. Point is, I spent a fair bit of time in Leeds before signing into PLOPS proper and beginning my official shift. Honestly traffic was very light for most of the morning, but then everything started to happen very quickly.
A pair of very large cargo transports were making their way through London and had routed to pass through the gate to the Leeds system. The first through was the IMG|Lost.Star, a very large guild ship transporting alcohol. I inquired about their cargo and destination, and they informed me that they were planning on taking their delivery into Tau 44. The guild must have some bases out there. I didn't have any reason to hold the ship, and I let them move along. Second visitor was a bit more interesting, a Rheinland Military ship, the [RM]HM-Max.Loof. She's a heavy Bristol ship under the command of Kapitanleutnant Hogarth. Her cargo was a lot of Daumann weapons bound for Gateshead in Newcastle. Is the Rheinland Military cleared to transport DHC weapons through Bretonia? It looked like a 2.1 violation, they weren't on the exemption list, but they said a treaty cleared them (cited: 829 Omega Security Agreement). Can we look into this? Regardless, guess our boys over there got a new shipment in. I recommend we send some guys over and make sure our department actually gets some brand new kit before the BAF pilfer it all from our warehouse. I uh, am pretty okay with my Detroit-S12. I've been taking good care of my service pistol, I swear.
Anyways, the Max Loof picked up some old surplus BAF equipment for Rheinland, and I escorted them out to the Omega-3 gate. By the time the Rheinlanders had gotten to the gate, the commander of the Lost Star had returned to Leeds in a shuttlecraft, and she was interested to talk about some local history. While I know the IMG has been trouble in the past, I figured I would oblige her and meet her at Leeds. Along the way I encountered a freelance scavenger with a ship marked as N3m3n. Guy was a fresh pilot, likely out of Trafalgar, out there picking the wrecks clean. He must have scooped up some Cardamine from a dead Outcast, I explained the issue to him and he willingly spaced the contraband for destruction. Guy was just a bit dense but otherwise seemed okay. Me and Anna Henderson got to talking some about the war and such, and I am pleased to say that she is absolutely not a dick. A nice surprise considering out track record with that insane Maya.
Unfortunately that rather rude woman, Rebecca Harper, appeared again, and briefly antagonized us both before I de-escalated and left the scene. I didn't see much sense in hassling another person in mourning.
Also, a Zoner smuggler by the name of Birma was pulled over with a load of illegally obtained gold. The man was rather kind and made a very generous donation to the widows and orphans fund and promised to behave himself better next time he was in Bretonia.
And lastly, I have secured a small, refurbished ship from an old contact on Trafalgar that I plan on using in that... Bretonian-Anti-Defamatory-Community-Outreach-Programme we set up. I will likely have it ready to fly sometime early next week and head out to Omega-3 to meet up with the IMG representatives there. Not sure what we are going to do about Maya shadowing an officer. I tried to throw Appletree to the hounds on this one but he's out right now as per his last message.
