Teaboy, you apparently weren't here before SF was created and when we decided to make NY a no-PvP zone and unclaimable.
There are several reasons for the no PvP rule
You have stated one.
The *REAL* reason is cause it's the starting point, and we did not want to have a bunch of n00bs shot up just "cause they can be". It would be insanely unfair to them.
THe other reason is to keep faction alignments at a decent level. Back when we could own entire system (entire gropus in fact), SF owned both Bretonnia and LIberty, only to be matched by AW. We gave up Liberty under one condition.. it's UNCLAIMABLE by any and all factions to keep the peace on the server and give all new players a starting point not controled by any existing in-server faction.
I will *NOT* support lifting the no PvP rule. End of story. it's there for the new people, not for us.
If people insist on continuing the no PvP rule, then they're just asking for bans. System camping is a major issue and we've discussed placing rules *AGAINST* it.
Lets be real, people. changing a major rule like this isn't something that's gonna be easy to do. The suggestions I've read here don't make any sense as an alternative.
@Dab: For once, I agree. the NY/Delta route has been around long enough. It needs to be moved. Perhaps.. Kusari-Delta ? There's a quick route by taking a few short stops, but I don't know.
@Everyone else: I'm saying this once. the No PvP rule in NY Stays. oNly way it's gonna be lifted is if everyone stays out of that system.
