..This is Edgar Clay, former Liberty Police weapons systems developer who's
had enough of their corruption. Apparently, we didn't pay our "protection taxes"
and our family's property was seized, shortly after they were out to arrest us.
Fortunately, I managed to evade capture along with my brother, David. We were
forced into hiding, but after a few years of laying low, my brother and I
managed to raid the Police Impound Lot on Manhattan. The security systems
were an easy hack, and the fact that the guards were out of coffee helped a lot.
We snatched a few Starfleas and ditched.
It was all good leaving Manhattan, but our "borrowing" didn't go over too well
when the guards noticed the missing ships. We got a little reckless and ran right
into a blockade. Lucky for us there were only about five of them, all rookies.
Together we gave those lousy Fuzz some free hull redecoration and a nice new
home in our cargo bays.
We managed to make our way to Rochester, scavenging up credits whenever
we could. With the bounty we got on those cops, and the salvaged weapons
from a few Xeno encounters, we had enough credits to continue our mission.
We still had no clue where to find the Hackers, but we got a tip that someone
somewhere on Buffalo could lead us there. It was a little iffy, but good enough
for us. After a little persuasion the Rogues let us dock. Luckily the info was
accurate and cheap, and we were off to Mactan the next day, leaving our
borrowed Starfliers behind, with Dagger Light Figters under our seats. Shortly
after arriving, we ran into a few Hackers, Svengali, Alec Trevelyan, and Phate,
who were kind enough to point us in the right direction and help us with our
mission to join the Lane Hackers.
