' Wrote:Meh, I usually say "engaging" to clarify. AFTER about 3 other RPed engagement notices.
Perfect example of what not to do.
Situation.
Me fighting a bad guy.
Im not paying attention to the things around me. If anything, I tell those around me spamming the system chat to be quiet so I can concentrate without having to read a heap of I NEED MONEYZ or whatever happens in New York.
Some guy says some stuff, but Im not really paying attention so I dont notice.
That same guy says ENGAIJIN
I go "nowai!!!" and hit printscreen, likely with the only comment from you as being engaging.
Just cut out the 'Engaging' part.
Because then I'd go "Hmm, why is this guy shooting me?"
I would then open the chat screen.
I would then find your RP and go "Fair enough" and continue the show.
EDIT: If the people you intend on shooting can't understand why they're being shot unless you say 'Engaging', then the fault lies with them and not with you. If you do not say 'Engaging' and instead whatever RP you'd like to do as your notice, then the only evidence they can find will be of you RPing properly, and not in the incriminating position of using that questionable word.
Kinda off topic, I saw that an engagement notice has to be three words or more somewhere.
1. Is this true?
If yes.
2. Is 'ENGAGING SCUMMY SCUMS' an applicable notice?
