Konnichiwa, associates.
Last night, the crew and I did a good deal of commercial activity. We began on Planet Holstein, where we stayed last time after the issue with the transponders. We headed to Solarius Station, in the desolate Omega-11 system, to acquire the diamonds needed in the Kyushu system. This was successful, if a bit depressing. Rheinland is very rocky and has nowhere near the beauty of home.
We began to head back to Kusari, when we were intercepted by a strange ship. It was broadcasting an "LWB" IFF, which a crew member tells me is sort of like the Farmers Alliance of Kyushu if they lost their organization, Kusari manners, and ability to speak without adding extra consonants into words. The ship was broadcasting the name "Nurse Olga", but I'm not sure if this person was actually a nurse. Certainly not by Kusari standards of medicine!
I was eventually able to convince her to let me with but a small bribe and the promise to send her complaint to human resources, which I did (and I'm sure they've since shredded). She claimed Daumann treats its miners poorly. That seems very unlike Kusari, where our employees have wonderful accommodations, of course. In any case, I was able to get away from her and her Hessian escorts.
After that, I proceeded to the Kyushu system with the diamonds and picked up a load of our wonderful food from the planet, which I brought to feed the employees on Shinjuku. The crew and I stopped and had a wonderful dinner (Junyo fish and Kyushan rice go wonderfully together, of course). From there we sold some of our top of the line mining machinery to the miners in the Tau-31 system.
Near the station by the Yamaguchi, we ran into a number of Kusari refugees from the war (they said they moved to the Taus primarily from Planet New Tokyo). Taking pity on their situation, I arranged their transport to Planet Kurile, where they are relocating and assisting the harvesting of alien organisms. I have the feeling these extra numbers will help productivity.
The science team is checking the latest batch of organisms before we take them to Planet Junyo, which we will do shortly.
