The only thing I find confusing is the CTans Empires apparent equal strength to the Daam Kavosh and not being able to simply steam roll humanity, since put it any way you like, but the Daam Kavosh could easily steamroll humanity if they showed up again for any reason. (I mean come on, they could move freaking planets and defy the most basic laws of physics as evident by that crazy thing in Gallia)
After all, the Nomads would have won the Nomad war had it not been for a Deus Ex Machina with Trent so I find it an almost silly notion that an even more powerful race could fail to overtake humanity with their full force.

I could easily buy that their empire simply never encountered the D'K before they vanished, and only recently came to this sector via a Hypergate or some sort of wormhole, but the current thing I find a bit hard to believe.

This is something I wanted to respond to specifically, I have only a short amount of time, so I hope I can get enough down before I have to leave. Okay. Reason out overlordic Empire hasn't come to fight humanity directly? They're busy. This is a side project that win or lose, they don't really care. They'll deal with it later, if need be. They are engaged in a war with a few species that are unable to be "enlightened" (perhaps the Da'am Kavash as part of that). On top of that, they aren't a very war-capable species. One human could kill fifteen of them with their bare hands. So, they can only spare relatively few surgeons to deal with this sector.

However, I'll admit, there do appear to be a few "plot holes" in the story... Perhaps one of these days I'll get around to sitting Kane down and updating it with him.

... If you read the wiki, you'd notice that we fail our task and humanity continues.

They don't need that, because they can dock pretty much anywhere. They can even kill individuals of those factions, and still dock on their bases. Pretty neat, huh.

Yeah, we've destroyed Junkers in the past... We were just sitting -near- their base, minding our own business and he got hostile and started shooting. We docked at the nearby Blood Dragon base, instead. I was expecting Junkers to tell us we have lost docking rights, to which we would have gone "meh" and added them to the same list we have the Order. "Shoot 'em if they shoot you."
