***Subject: Official application***
Hola Ladies and Gentlemen, outcast brethren, commanding officers.
My name is Nero DOrtona and I am hereby asking to be officially enlisted into your ranks. Reason for me to switch over from the regular Maltese Defence Forces are the good experiences I had with your pilots on several occasions. It would be an honour to be allowed to wear your flag while flying with my brethren. Because this is what I already consider you.
But now for the necessary paperwork. My CV is attached. I currently have access to both, a Sabre and a Falcata. The Sabre always would be my ship of choice unless the enemy forces require heavier weapons.
You questionnaire is also attached, Im awaiting your response.
Best regards, Nero DOrtona

Born: 799 A.S.
Height: 178 cm
Weight: 70kg
Hair Colour: brown
Eye Colour: grey (originally brown)
(Note: His eye colour has changed due to the experimental use of chemicals during a special training.)
Nero DOrtona was born in 799 A.S. on Malta shortly before the so-called Nomad War, although that term never affected the outcast society. At that time his father Alessandro DOrtona was piloting a freighter, smuggling cardamine into Liberty, but would soon decide that there would be needed more than cardamine to convince Sirius of the outcast way of life. So he decided, against his wifes wishes, that his son would take on a more military career.
When Nero was a child, he was one of the youngest students allowed to attend the Maltese fighter pilots academy. His abilities had been noticed by the tutors very soon, so they were able to benefit his training even more. His files at the flight school covered almost no negative reports about him, but several good ones about outstanding performances, as well theoretical as practical, his eagerness to learn more and his general attitude.
The negative report is about a training fight against his personal rival, another young student of the same age. Their continuous competition culminated in a training fight when both of them disobeyed to orders of their instructor and tried to carry on that fight as far as possible.
About one year later, in 810 AS both of them suddenly disappeared. At that time Nero was considered to be a deserter who left Malta.
Seven Years later, not very long ago, he returned to Malta in a Scimitar Light fighter. The battleship that received his transmission was by accident the MNS Tramonto del Sole, captained by Alessandro DOrtona, Neros father.
He managed to explain that he did not desert from the outcasts and that he has received special trainings under an alias at Cali base. Furthermore the drill he had been gone through during the last year had made him one of the commanding officers of the Cali Combat Squadron, a small unit of young pilots primarily focussing on the use of light fighters.
Details about his training for the Cali Combat Squadron are only barely available. Almost nothing is recorded, and those parts that are have been hidden beyond faked names an other distractions.
By now it has become clear that his tutor at Cali was the former base commander and ace pilot Angelo Corvi and that he has arranged several incognito visits on Malta to follow the needs of his outcast body and breath real cardamine containing air.
After revealing their existence the Cali Combat Squadron fought in many fight at the borders in the Taus, fights where they proofed they piloting skills, but fights that also proofed that the high ranked members, Nero and his rival, still didnt learn to really work together. At the end Nero decided to step down and leave the already moldering Squadron. Instead he joined the regular Maltese defence forces to find back to himself because he charge himself being guilty for the failure of the project at Cali. Time passed and his mental state went back to normal. He gained the respect of his wingmen and comrades and he improved his tactical understanding.
By now he is stationed at the 57th Maltese Sabre Squadron.

Quote:1)Why the 101st Outcast Guard?
My first experiences with the 101st were with Raul Sanchez, the Admiral at the time I made my first outcast character (without actually knowing about his rank). He gave me a warm welcome to Alpha which I never forgot and later met several other members which I also played good along with. Ive been thinking about joining the 101st for almost a year now. I decided it would be a good step several times and now finally got myself to actually really do it.
2) What are two things that you enjoy doing in real-life besides playing freelancer?
Id say go out meet some friends (or just my girlfriend) and doing some sports, most of the time riding my bike, I guess.
3) What would the last sentence of your autobiography be?
Since Im not very interested in autobiographies probably something like: Now you know about my life, probably even more than I can remember right know, and I really dont want to know why it interested you so much.
4) If you could be a fictional character (from a film, book, comic, etc...), who would it be, and why?
Phew, good question, at first Id have chosen something like a member of the Black Hand from Command and Conquer. Considering it again I might as well choose Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7, before he went mad that is.
