Ahh... this is getting out of hand.

I, for one, believe the ZTC's excuse, for the most part. The misunderstanding that I'm seeing here now is the "We didn't see any news item" part of their story. I believe that... but only because they weren't looking hard enough.

I went to Crete and looked through the news twice before I noticed the piece about Miguel's birthday. It was buried in with at least a dozen other old news stories dating back to obsolete vanilla plot-lines. Someone could have easily opened the news, made a quick scan through all the entries, and claimed that nothing was new. After all, most people would probably expect the newest news story to be at the top of the list.

So the ZTC may be right. They didn't "see" any news. I'm not saying this is a much better excuse than "we want to abuse and in-RP event," because it's their fault for not looking more closely, but my point is I don't think they were lying.
