I don't have a problem with adding a few unlawful sale points, but, that also removed from the complexity of the experience. When this was made, it was intended that people would be smart and use escorts and independent miners would only be able to do this type of thing once or twice between spurts of mining. The original pirate miners were made to test exactly how well this worked. It's not just the pirating with Miner IDs has become such a great pastime, the cooperation such high profits was meant to inspire is simply not there. If Miners want this to be like trading without the risk of losing their cargo, it should get the same profitability as trading. There is absolutely no reason a miner shouldn't be able to hire an escort at a reasonable wage where a smart pirate won't be able to just buy him off.

I might say in my extensive experience, 2750 units of the usual ore makes over 30 million. Well over thirty million. If you can't afford to pay your escort some 7-8 million for your load, which is four or five million less than my pirates and the most popular pirates will charge a ship, and much less than any of the greedy pirates, something is wrong with your mindset, especially if you KNOW you will meet pirates on the way. Even so, isn't it better not to take the chance and simply hire a bomber? I mean, really, it isn't rocket science. In fact, it's very simply algebra that I think I learned in fifth grade. If an escort betrays you, it wouldn't be a surprise to me. The pirate probably offered him much more than a piddly two million.

If there are no escorts around, hey, an open market for you. Who doesn't like to get lots of money for doing something that could potentially be very simple? And even if you find a transport pirate, your miner has more armor than him or equal armor by defeault. Have your employer wear down his hull a bit for the (probable) armor and lay into him with your SN. Wow, that was hard.

I fail to see any problem or reason for surprise in an upcoming nerf...

The definition of insanity is pirating right in front of a lawful base, in the middle of lawful space, and thinking that's in-RP.

Have you ever once considered that other people are RPing here and have done things and considered things that would, I don't know, compensate for some RP consequences. Hell, has anyone ever considered reporting us to the LN or LPI or LSF and Faction Right 5ing the miner pirates? It really wouldn't be a surprise, and we've been talking about it since we started to test this. Enough DSE have been pirated to Faction Right 5 us into the stone age.
