The colada thing was discussed both here:

Note that it's actually requested by corsairs themselves.

Ad for the difference between previous version and current one, it's basically like comparing Black Widow vs Kraken. Which one is better?
Black Widow has more dps, but much more energy use, Kraken has less dps and less energy (better efficiency).
Which one is better? Hard to pick.
