Title: Grocery Shopping. And other stuff.

I woke up the other day and made an attempt to produce a coffee. To my shock and dismay I was out of coffee. In fact, upon closer inspection, I was out of a lot of things. We've been loitering around Braunsausage for over a fortnight now, and the stockpile of food rations, water and oxygen were all getting a bit low. Mecklenburg only stocks what it needs; I couldn't just go in and buy out the whole station.

I concluded that some grocery shopping was in order. Rousing Misaka from her slumber proved to be quite entertaining in of itself.

I floated from my own bunk, the upper tier of a set of two, finding a messed up, approximately spherical ball of chocolate coloured hair holding the girl's face within residing in the lower bed. I deftly and silently placed myself on top of her without disturbing the peace, abusing the lack of gravity that space provides. With my hands either side of Misaka's body I pulled myself in closer, ending up mere centimetres from her face, still in sleep mode.

Keeping dead silent I could hear Misaka's gentle breathing, soft and quiet, perfectly suitable for a princess.

I closed what little space remained between us and stole a long, passionate kiss. At least, passionate on my side. Misaka was still asleep. As I was enjoying the moment, I felt two hands reach up behind me and pull me in closer. The young mistress seemed to have become aware of my presence. Or was it an automatic response? Either way we were locked in an embrace for what seemed like hours.

"And good morning to you, Eva.", the first words spoken by the hazel-eyed wonder that lay before me, millimetres away.

"To what do I owe the pleasure of being woken up in such a manner? Or are you just in the mood for "it" so early in the morning?" Misaka asked, now covered in a light blush.

My mood-spoiling reply was "Grocery shopping, Misaka.". I watched her stare blankly for a moment, gain comprehension of what I had just said and the expression on her face change from an intimate arousal to vague displeasure.

"We can continue this once we've finished buying everything.", as I once again closed the negligible distance between us, and this time, secured a mutually permissive exchange, her face changing from the vague displeasure to an expression suitable for my eyes only, almost bringing about myself disregarding the day's duties and disrobing on the spot.

I reluctantly pushed myself out of the confines of the lower bunk, leaving Misaka to untie herself and get ready for the day's events.

Some time later and with the mood well and truly set we fired up the Alsatia's engines and left the sanctuary of Braunsausage for Planet Stuttgart. As it turned out, the Major General decided to tag along and keep us company.

The day's duties, in dot point form:

Buy a variety of food supplies for both short and long term storage
Refill water tank
Repressurise oxygen tanks
Replace failed No. 2 turret with another of the same
Fill the fuel tanks
Locate and peruse an adult boutique for the evenings plans.


I was aiming to run into Mitzi as a secondary objective, however I didn't get my hopes up greatly, knowing she's likely to be on duty in some far corner of space. The trip to Stuttgart was quick and painless without anything of note to report. I moored to the orbital docking ring without incident and enlisted a planetary descent capable taxi craft to assist the transferral of the goods I purchased to the Alsatia.

After spending a couple hours loitering around the place looking for things to buy, we packed up and left Stuttgart and returned to Braunsausage. The trip back was as uneventful as the trip down.

I moored the Alsatia to Mecklenburg after a full day of boring, mundane flying. I had thought ahead and sent Sakura, Kana and Fumika off to their own quarters well in advance, leaving just myself and Misaka on the bridge.

Not three seconds after hitting the engine shutdown button I had thrown off my seatbelt and promptly pushed myself off the control deck, flying directly for Misaka who had conveniently been floating in mid-air behind me. Our faces, and thereafter our mouths, came together, still drifting across the bridge. We collided with the bulkhead at the back of the room, not hard enough to cause damage but hard enough to set the tone for the remainder of the evening.

At least, that was the plan. I had barely removed Misaka's spats when as if out of bloody nowhere Rall shows up -again- at the airlock demanding to be let in.

Once again, I appeared at the airlock wearing very little, visibly displaying my discontent as his impeccable timing. What meagre assets I possess in full view beneath a hopelessly thin, sheer white nightgown and a pair of white, lace panties. This of course caused stuttering, averted eyes and an adorable blush from the young Major.

In amongst the commotion Rall did manage to ask for my help, again. According to his sources a Rheinland cruiser captain had gone against orders and entered Texas space without warrant. I was promptly tasked with, and paid, to investigate the incident as a low-profile, neutral party. The Alsatia has avoided becoming a target by the Liberty lawkeepers and thus is well suited to observing the problem.

So, after re-donning mine and Misaka's clothing, we set out from Mecklenburg and headed for Texas via. Hamburg and Bering. Kana and Fumika were both roused from.... whatever they were doing... in their room and appeared back on the bridge. The little princess, however, was dead to the world. Nothing was going to wake her up.

The flight to Bering was, as usual, boring and mundane, however in this case I was able to keep my spirits up by playing a game of dressups with a charmingly flustered Misaka. By the end of the Tradelane linking the Hamburg gate to Freeport 2 she was wearing a Kusari girl's high school uniform, animal ears headband and a tail held on with a belt about her pubescent hips.

Our little game, sadly, would be cut short by the unexpected presence of an unusual armada of Liberty ships present at the jumpgate linking Bering to Texas. There is often a ship or two stationed there to ward off potential blockade runners; but this was well beyond that. A dreadnought, battlecruiser, bomber and a solitary fighter.

When I arrived, I met what seemed to be the tail end of an engagement between Liberty and Rheinland. I was able to witness a gunboat getting torn to shreds by the the dreadnought bearing LNS Pacific on the side. I sat there and watched the spectacle. Whoever had ordered this ship out here, had basically signed the crew's death certificates. The thing was annihilated.

I enquired what was going on over a broadcast channel and the commander of the LNS Champion, a ship I'm quite familiar with, replied stating that a Rheinland task force had invaded Texas and this was the end of that invasion.

The thing about the Champion and "his" captain is they have never born arms against me despite the fact we're on opposite ends of the war. And quite thankfully so. The Alsatia wouldn't have a chance in hell of surviving an onslaught from a battlecruiser. He even held back his accessories the dreadnought and bomber, whom were sent back through the jumpgate into Texas.

Thus would begin a rather captivating and intelligent conversation with the captain of the ship, Ian Thorpe and the ship _itself_ an artificial intelligence named "Vergil". We discussed things ranging from the advances in AI technology to when we'd last scored with a girl.

This guy is alright, I reckon. He's miles more intelligent than the special-ed classes that crew most of the Secondary fleet of Liberty, rivalling the minds of those in the Primary Fleet admiralty. And he didn't try to kill me, which is good. We ended up loitering around Freeport 2, enjoying the pseudo safety of the no-fire-zone enforced by the owners.

However by that time I'd been awake a good 18 hours and it was starting to show. I had to end the wonderful encounter with Vergil and his owner and return to Rheinland to get some much needed rest. I set the Alsatia on autopilot with the "alert when input required" setting active and got in some powernap time during tradelane travel en-route to Braunsausage, thus ending my day of grocery shopping.

I arrived back at Mecklenburg a zombie, parked the Alsatia and promptly fell asleep.

However, there is a positive ending to this story. When I finally woke up the next morning at something resembling the standard "midday", I found Misaka lusciously adorned with nothing more than a black lace bra and panties, in much the same position as I had been the morning prior. She was just as frustrated as me at the recent lack of fulfilment brought about by recent events. I wasted no time in disrobing what scant protection she had and revelling in the young maiden's bashfulness at being completely exposed to my devious eyes in the full light of the cabin we called home.

I was indulging myself in Misaka's deliciously youthful, supple skin, massaging her most private of places, evoking soft, deeply intimate mews from her when the door suddenly slid open, presenting a little girl standing in the hallway, bearing a hand-made picture of her recently acquired family in pastel coloured crayons. The child had spent the morning drawing with the other two lovebirds making up the Alsatia's crew, whom had sent Sakura in knowing full well what was going on behind the closed door to the captain's quarters.

The innocent girl witnessed a seemingly empty room, the two grown-ups remaining perfectly silent, hoping like hell Sakura would not investigate the top bunk which the two adults were residing in, having absolutely nothing to hide their activity from the intruder. I had my fingers somewhere quite embarrassing; Misaka was frozen solid on top of me, fully aware of the severity of the situation we found ourselves in.

The little girl observed the "empty" room momentarily, before closing the sliding door and hopping off down the hallway, her magnetised boots hammering echoes throughout the ship as she did so. The very moment the door closed, Misaka threw herself off of me, almost taking my hand with her as she made a dive for the door lock. In a mere second or two the door was locked, Misaka back to her original position and my hands free to complete the task at hand.

I don't think we've ever been as... vicious... with each other as we were that day. The frustration we both bore was released over the course of the rendezvous in spectacular fashion. I hold no doubt the others were able to hear us, but I didn't care and neither did Misaka.
