"Awe come on Corsairs, come play in the fog!" Came a female haughty and arrogant voice.
"Shes most likely in the Maltov Nebula, split up and search."
"Aye sir." Clicked Lucendez in his newly purchased Titan. Juan had been patrolling Omega-93 all day and was finally ready for some action, any action. Juan cruised into the green fog and started dodging rock moving in a circular pattern that would take the least amount of time.
"Found her." Radioed Juan through the wing-group only comm channel. "D3, she sees me as well, moving to engage."
"Roger that, amigo. Venganza en route. 45K till intercept."
"Wonderful ... what the?" Lucendez exclaimed at the annoying beeping sound coming from somewhere inside his cockpit. That moment was the time the enemy pilot decided to open fire and strafe the lingering Titan, knocking out Lucendez's shielding. Juan cursed his distractive mind and thrusted out, dodging his enemies' next run. Juan punched the blinking and beeping light. "What is it?!"
"Honey, is that you?" The color drained from Juan's face.
"Yes darling, of course. How are -you-." Adding extra strain to the end of the word 'you' and bringing his adversary down to half shielding.
"Oh I'm fine, a bit cranky today actually. I talked to Corsair high command and they think they can get you a freighter position sometime in the near future! Isn't that great?"
"--Warning, incoming missile--"
Juan almost didn't see the Starkiller Torpedo until the computer warned him about it, detonating harmlessly on a rock face.
"Juan, who was that in the background? Was that a woman I heard?!"
"No no honey, of course not, that was the computer, dinners done. Do you think we can talk about this some other time?" Lucendez had used the blast-cloud created by the torpedo to hide on the other side of an asteroid. The woman on the other end radioed back, "Well of course, it's not like you're doing anything dangerous or anything, I'll let you get back to your boring patrol. Crete out."
Juan breathed in a sigh of relief and looked up. Apparently the transmission from Crete was enough to triangulate Lucendez's position. She had been waiting there until he hung up before letting the trigger go and annihilating Lucendez's ship. As Juan's drop pod careened wildly through the green fog, Venganza finally showed up and tractored him back to Crete. Juan watched the empty hull of his first Titan as he cruised back to Crete with Vengaza.
"I need a drink after that debacle." Juan said. Vengaza just shrugged. Juan sat down on the passenger's seat and looked around the cockpit, smiling at the gaping hole where the transmission terminal was supposed to be, long torn out. "Live and learn, I guess."
OOC. As you can see, I got eliminated pretty fast but LesMoore held out for about 45 minutes before the battle ended. (anna was the name of the enemy) Good show brother!
"The thirteen saloons that had lined the one street of Seney had not left a trace. The foundations of the Mansion House hotel stuck up above the ground. The stone was chipped and split by the fire. It was all that was left of the town of Seney. Even the surface had been burned off the ground.
Nick looked at the burned-over stretch of hillside, where he had expected to find the scattered houses of the town and then walked down the railroad track to the bridge over the river. The river was there."
