PERSONAL HISTORY:
Rohj Teerin was born to a lower middle class family that operated a small freelance hauling business. The company was founded by his grandparents, who were Zoner immigrants from Ames Research Station. They came to Liberty a year before his father, Leo, was born. Leo grew up in their footsteps, taking over the company when they passed on in 785 A.S.
Prior to that however, Leo had children of his own and Rohj, named for his grandfather, is the first of three kids. He is also older than both of his cousins, whose mother is the sister of Leo. They tried their best to bring their children up to support the company; bringing them to workshops, spaceports, and the like. But despite their efforts, each of them went their separate ways.
Rohj's youngest sibling Chris left them without notice shortly before the Nomad War started. Presumed to have traveled out to the Sigmas, no one has heard of him since. Their sister was deeply affected by this, and soon thereafter became an alcoholic. She is now a public speaker, determined to raise awareness.
One of his cousins, Carl Corey, took a job with the Independent Miners Guild and spends most of his time blasting asteroids in the irradiated Tau-23 Star System. The other, Bolingar Corey, took after their Bretonian father and works as a completely independent transport-for-hire.
Having a bad relationship with his parents, Rohj became the first in his family to join the military. As soon as he could, he registered for Officer Training School at West Point Academy in late 801 A.S. Given that the Nomad War had finished several months prior, the Navy was eagerly taking on young Cadets. Following the conclusion of his classes there and at Fort Severn, Teerin was assigned to the 82nd Corporate Support Squadron. There he flew as an auxiliary support pilot for Ageira trade vessels primarily in the Colorado Star System.
As a member of that wing, Rohj was commended for bravery and promoted to Junior Lieutenant during his first six months. But overall, he saw very little combat and after two full years he transferred into the reserves. Teerin had a chance run-in with Carl later that year and in no time found himself a part-time IMG employee. He was assigned as an emergency communications responder on Aland Shipyard, as warranted from his escorting experience in the Navy. In 810 A.S., he returned to Liberty and worked a similar job for Interspace Commerce.
Four years later, Teerin returned to active duty. Having taken additional flight courses at Richmond, he spent a lot of time as a junior coordinator at Fort Bragg on Manhattan before taking an active role in First Fleet space operations. Shortly after his promotion to Lieutenant, then-Commodore Henri Lavalle took special notice of Rohj by making him an aide-de-camp of the Admiralty. Months later, following the retirement of Fleet Admiral Hale, Baker promoted Rohj to Commander of the Logistics Corps. By mid-July 820 A.S., he made the rank of Vice Admiral.
Near to the beginning of 821 A.S., Baker took an extended medical leave, with Sanders as her replacement. After merely three months on the job, Roy stepped down to the rank of Captain. Due to other circumstances at the time, Teerin was the sole Admiral for a span of nearly two weeks. Infrastructure in both the mid and high commands are still being reworked.
Teerin has been known as an even-handed, approachable Admiral who enjoys the company of his subordinates. In addition to his leadership accomplishments, he has been issued over a dozen awards, most notably the Navy Silver Star, Navy Bronze Star, and Bomber Ace Pin.
On Reserve Duty since late summer 822 A.S., he now spends most his time at an apartment on his home planet, and also maintains connections with friends and former wingmen such as Alan Polstari and James Lambert.

"You see what your knowledge tells you you're seeing. ... how, what you think the universe is, and how you react to that in everything you do, depends on what you know. And when that knowledge changes, for you, the universe changes. And that is as true for the whole of society as that is for the individual. We all are what we know, today. What we knew yesterday, was different; and so were we."
- James Burke, The Day the Universe Changed (1985)
