I do not see how it is hard to avoid typing a swearword 3 times.
The example of the poor "newbie" that gets caught in this accidentally sounds to me very much like an excuse.
Players who do this regularly do it on purpose to get a more or less relevant advantage over other players by abusing a feature that is meant to keep the number of reports for swearing low. Less relevant, if you just want to switch chars when no one is around (you do not have to wait for 1 minute), more abusive when you swearkick yourself inside the jump anmination to avoid being pvped.
The F1-delay was made to discourage 3 abuses of the mechanism:
> traders F1ing at the sight of pirates (generating frustration and reports) => pirate has 1 minute to kill the shieldless guy.
> solo mining by relogging trader after F1ing miner
> griefers quicklogging between characters (the "drifting mechaism" was added to make this even harder)
So yes, the F1 mechanism has its sense and justification.
