Hi there.
I recieved word from my brother Hudson early today, who called me back to Manhattan to deal with a rather untimely and unfortunate family tragedy that requires me to be transferred to reserve or go on leave for an indefinite amount of time. Terribly sorry about this, but my family is in disarray and my brothers mental state has taken a very sudden turn for the worse. Of course, I will be on-call to help defend Colonial assets if need be. Hope you understand.
Was doing a quick patrol when I came across some Contari Lanciere, he didn't say much even when I tried to lure him out, had to fight him near the base. I've gotta say it was an easy kill.

I was on a Tau 23 patrol after some major combat that had been happening in 23 and 37, though I was too late for those. Either way, while heading to 37, I caught a Contari Lanciere and engaged him, I think he was a bit high, kept on babbling about some god or something.
Either way, a few minutes into the fight he got some help, though it didn't change the outcome, they both died.

The Prometheus is a rather different beast from the Euryphaessa, less agents crawling around for one thing. A fine engagement to report alongside some of our Hydras and eventually the Olympia of the Vanguard fleet who decided to show his face. No matter what they sent at us, two Thanatos cruisers hold up extremely well.
An 'Xtreme fighter', melted away, then three cruisers: The.Placeholder, Lieutel and Novara all destroyed in turn.
A fine day to fly, Fleet Officer Jacob Edwards
Commander Anders reporting in from the Athena,
It appears the repair and upgrade work to her hull, along with the weaponry refit, has improved her effectiveness considerably. Along with our Firebirds and other assets in the Fleets, several Outcast vessels have been crippled or destroyed:
The.Placeholder - once in Tau-29 and again in the mining fields Pantera - taken alone at Java Mr.KenWhite - lost out even with Cali's assistance The.Stock.Crash - I am afraid his economy has taken a downturn
outcast-guy - last and least, a Sabre foolish enough to take on after Pantera was crippled. The Maltese will learn soon enough.
So say we all, Commander Roger Anders
Susan here, just before I run off to the medbay,
Thought I'd best get these combat reports finished. The paperwork pile is adding up a bit...
A Samarranslave transport was stopped and the poor souls brought to Java.
That wasn't all for them, as Nina and I managed to beat a rather cocky Mr. Nomak with some well-timed mines.
That nice little raiding force ventured into Alpha. Fortunately we were able to take out their standing capital assets before we went for their snubs. Unfortunately their second wave of capitals wiped us out, with a few escaping with ships intact. Following kills: Niemand by Jackson John_Sheppard, a broken Tridente
A Falcata and Ranseur destroyed together
A Ragriz bomber shot down
Some Corsairs showed up to do their part as well, I heard there was some sort of agreement about this but we weren't getting in their way regardless.
I was looking for a fair duel with a silent Outcast, but he had other ideas and opened up on me as soon as he was in range. Didn't last long though.
We had rather a messy engagement involving Brigands, Maquis, EFL, RNS, Outcasts, Pirate, Freelancers, Gateway and our own folks. A Vanguard cruiser and I eventually wore out a Valor before some really weird Ranseur showed up and barged in.
McTrevish managed to pop himself along with another Outcast, at least he kept it off my back.
That's all from me for now.
Signing off,
Flight Officer Anders Callsign - Erudition/Wisdom
Earlier this week a secondary fleet officer, Seville, and I ran into a strange gunboat-class warship at Pecos. Its captain claimed to be a jump point researcher, or something ... Neither of us particularly believed this story, and a suspicious unknown foreign gunship wasn't something we wanted around our home, so we escorted him back to the Cortez jump anomaly. When we got there, the captain stated that he actually had to head to the Baffin star system because he needed to get resupplied from a nearby base in that direction. The three of us took him over there then waited around that jump hole for a short time in case he doubled back, and after that proceeded to Sabah to dock.
"You see what your knowledge tells you you're seeing. ... how, what you think the universe is, and how you react to that in everything you do, depends on what you know. And when that knowledge changes, for you, the universe changes. And that is as true for the whole of society as that is for the individual. We all are what we know, today. What we knew yesterday, was different; and so were we."
- James Burke, The Day the Universe Changed (1985)
There's been quite a lot going on concerning the Thanatos, Asteria, over the past few days, so I'll start from the beginning. First off, an incursion in to Maltese space, made by a task force consisting of the Asteria, Vanguard Olympia, and the Nyx, Pericles. We were able to bring down a single Outcast Corvo before we were driven out by an overwhelming defence force.
Next was the Outcasts biting back. A total of two Stortas and a single Falcata raiding the Taus in one day. All three dispatched by the Asteria with the assistance of IMG support units.
A day later, we received a tip off about an Outcast Dreadnought, soon to be escorted out of Bretonian sovereign, in to the Taus. With support from Pythos Thumper and Cataclysm, the Asteria blew it open with relative ease. Helped by the fact that the Outcast seamed to be lacking any repairs.
And lastly, for now, another raid in to Alpha. This time yielding slightly better results. The Asteria, Typhon, and again Vanguard Olympia destroyed one Dreadnought and one Tridente gunship. Our victories were cut short after we were forced to retreat when two Marduk nomads, along with a Storta destroyer finally came to Malta's defence.
Been doing a daily patrol of the Tau systems recently, just to help stamp down on illegal activity and pointless crimes committed by criminals, Maltese especially.
Today I had just entered Tau-23 when a lonely Outcast, apparently inexperienced in etiquette, decided to open fire on me. Not much of a surprise from their type I suppose. Anyway, "threat" eliminated. Bigger Joker than me it seems.
A little later, I found another one just after he'd finished pirating a poor soul. A Warrant Officer had engaged him but hadn't had much luck. He's being transported back though, he'll be okay. I avenged him and destroyed the Lanciere's ego.
I started another patrol in Tau-23 just to make sure everything is in order. It wasn't long before I noticed anOutcast StortanearJava Station. Upon asking why it was there I didn't get a straight answer so after calling on backup we opened fire.
Shortly after engagement, aKusari Exiledecided to come to his defence. Never seen anything like it, he must've been very confused. A crush perhaps? Who knows. Anyway, both were taken out swiftly. Amateur pilots are always good fun.
We continued the patrol for a while afterwards. The only other disturbance was aGallic Trainheading for Gallic Space. We managed to stop it and after it refused to pay a fine, was destroyed shortly after.
So, today I heard reports of the Gallic Royal Navy making another push in Bretonia. I was the first of very few Colonials to respond and by the time I made my way down there, I was informed by Bretonians that they had jumped to Magellan via the Jump Hole. They were right. I can't remember numbers exactly but there was enough of them to do some serious damage. I followed them back into Leeds and that's where it got ugly. I was outnumbered about Five-to-one until the Bretonians arrived but they were wiped out relatively quickly.
However, the main bulk of support came not from the Bretonians...but from Liberty. They must have picked up their presence via reconnaissance or something. Anyhow, a Siege Cruiser and a fighter wing from the LSF and Liberty Navy were on hand on help purge the irritation.
From here it was tipped in our favour, the Royal Navy were picked off one by one by superior fire power from all of us. A fellow Colonial joined me, it was nice to see a familiar face. These 2 files clearly show the superior force.
This huge advantage led to the fight being shortened as the Gallics continued to get battered until only one or two remained. However, as I was about to return to Falkland, I noticed another Gallic scumbag appear on my scanner. He was an independent. Liberty were still bloodthirsty but I told them to back off. This one was mine. After a short fight, I tore him apart.
I was doing a patrol in 37 when I got a message over emergency channels of a Royal Navy raid on Leeds, I was contacted by the Council and joined their secure comm. line before heading there myself, when I arrived I saw multiple Valors as well as an Obstinate and a few snubs. One of our was there, a nugget I believe, I'm not sure, he was destroyed and I took his pod.
I then engaged one of the hostiles Lynxes, the guy had a full missile load-out, god damned freak. Took me a few minutes to kill him, though it wasn't that difficult. However, due to the Bretonian's incompetence in even their basic defenses and having no reinforcements inbound, I returned to base before I could become a target for their capital vessels.
