So all this talk about AI wanting to build the second base on the second planet is irrelevant?

While I don't approve of random acts of gank, I'm fine with premeditated acts of gank.
If a base is very stupidly built, or is in a stupid place that causes issues for people (like camping other bases or gates), I have no problems with seeing it explode.

This. but if people are gonna do it, make sure theres rp behind it o_o

From the Coalition, to the Order, to FP9, this is a all too common problem that I would see squashed from existence underneath the heel of my boot.
Hur hur. That is amusing.
Friendships are made OORP. Not IRP. So if those people you are so very trying to keep your relationships with are eagerly taking the bait and bashing you for the things some indies do, it means they WANT to do harm to you.
In other words, if some group is actually taking this into account and making a big deal about it IRP, then it means that they were looking for the first reason to start whining at you.
This may be true, for those of you whom find that thinking overmuch on things like diplomacy and character empathization makes one's head hurt, but i rock a Cap8 forumlancer keyboard of DOOOOMMM with the special SkypePro Over 9000 mod package.
I've cold-called alliances and business deals and kept key player bases out of developing conflicts; ended deep-seated faction conflicts (and started one or two of my own), unruffled more than a few feathers, hell, I held the hounds of das Rheinwehr off of IC| for a year, through incident after incident (that the various strings of fly-by-night faction leaders who succeeded me ultimately failed I hold as no tarnish to my own record].
And I've done all of this whilst in character, in roleplay, and in mindset.
Hell, even my skype diplomacy is in character.
How?
M.I.C.E, that's how (although a dash and a pinch of spying here and there help too).
Money. Ideology, Conscience, and Ego. The four base motivators from whence all actions, both player and character, are derived.
It's not hard once thought is put into it.
So, please, go right ahead and tell me that OORP friendships are the root of all Disco diplomacy, beacuse I've a whole backlog of stuff to prove you wrong.
Hell, I've even see conflicts happen despite oorp friendships and motivations.
The root of the conflicts, the genesis event of the wars between the Corsairs and both the Coalition and the Order are the best examples of these ([A], not so much. we kinda wanted that one to happen, although it did spiral out of control quickly.)
gone four years, first day back: Zoners still getting shot in Theta :|
Quote:I was one of the legates there. My legate got shot by one of the AI guys when I was trying to get some cap guns off of the planet, because the corsair guard is so damn huge.
I must say, it felt effing awesome to watch their effort burn. Revenge is sweet.
Also, why should we listen to a member of a faction, which is just barely meeting activity levels? He can threaten us all he wants, if I get shot by some retard because "LOL INDIE CAP DURR MUST SHOOT", I will bring friends and mess up their sandbox in return. It is only fair.
Wha? What are you on about Sindroms? I'd like to see the full chatlog on that before anybody puts either a positive or negative bias on that event.
Also, "watching effort burn". So... You decide to screw up corsair diplomacy for a reasoning which had little ingame effort behind it? Where did this sudden narcissic prejudice leap out from?
And it's not "Our Sandbox". InRp that station ran the entirety of the Consensus and killing it was meant to result in massive degrees of damage to the Consensus.
So. You raged at one member of AI because of one bluemessage, then decided to kill a station which is InRp critical to the Consensus with your Oorp gank buddies for the simple reason you wanted to buy Cap turrets from Gammu which InRp is a planet so radioactive humans are discouraged from docking there anyway? Where is your respect for other community members, role-play or any sense of fair play, and I want you to reason that with me without any sign of apathy please.
This station was never intended to block the planet entry. Every time I tell that to somebody (Oorp wise) they go "yeahhh... sure." Every time we build it again (this was the third time), random lolgates go and kill it for reasons which are very... very... close to a rule violation.
I query this, what is the point of doing any Rp for bases if base and faction haters just see them as legitimate targets?
Plus that remark about watching effort burn was nothing but inflammatory, sculpted to encourage anger and a possible two-sided debate. Come on man, you've been here longer than me, please work it out.
Plus you said an InRp decision makes the Consensus "twats"? Well Yayyy to that! I can't really argue with anger.
Barely meeting activity levels? Please check the activity tracker.
I'm going to get pretty darn Q Q'ish myself if anyone else starts using "Oorp repercussions" to do anything on this Rp server, because there isn't really a suitable word for that one.
Oh and yes, we will re-position that base core, every time you blow it up, because our current Rp states that it has to be there. So essentially, all your efforts will go to waste just as much as ours allegedly has. Time to find InRp solutions to the Oorp'ers methinks.
Alpha is correct. Everytime I saw Corsair sieging yet another AI base in Kappa - it always was noobfest. Always at least one Zoner jugg was there and helping Corsairs. Always was no RP done when I started to ask things on my Corsairs.
Questions like ''Elders gave permission? What is reasons? Who is that Zoner?'' was completely ignored and answered ooRP'ly. Acting like that is what gave Corsair playerbase awful face. I'd FR5 all Corsairs who going war without consulting Elders first. Remember - all orders going from them. Corsair cant attack anyone who not enemy already without permission of Elders.

Thanks man and kudos . Remember, indies shouldn't invariably behave like a separate faction with half-Rp, but quite a few people misuse the Corsair and (to a lesser extent) Zoner ID's as indies to play zero-Rp base destroying caps.
It saddens me to see people using indie caps (and you should really be roleplaying if you're using a cap anyway) as mobile base-destroying units.
I've seen nomad ID'd players Rp more than people who indulge in Oorp capspam (no offence to Nomb ID'ers of course). Sad but true.
Usually the scale of these revenge groups have more to do with "how many mates I haz on Skype with caps in dat area", than it does with proper Rp practice, which in itself gives these Oorp legions significantly more power than most unofficial and official factions can counter with, responding to what (InRp) could be viewed as an enormous act of egocentric terrorism.
Jay , you shouldn't forget bro that corsairs may do what they want and no one can tell them what to do, this is precisely why we have the court - none the less, This post should make our elders very.. unpleased, else i'll be damn sure to claim theta for myself - Our focus now is with the commies ( although died down a little ) so naturally these things dont really bother our elders, but it will sooner or later.
I doubt anyone is trying to sabotage their officialdom requests, though much of it is on the expense of another faction > ZA - so whatever insults the AI get inrp it had it coming ten times more - I told the za fellas to play along with this "war" - before the wagon got full, and even with that declaration post of Kappa, but the war is ooc - oorp and completely bollux as zoners can dock on zoner planets/bases no matter how many resolutions they pass.
I still think to my opinion that the AI's are fools, both inrp and inrl - You dont go to war with someone that close to you, especaily when they have some sort of corsair umbrella. - With all due respect.
Quote: "how many mates I haz on Skype with caps in dat area"
this applies to both indies and official ones

regarding this two:
2>Why elder declined permission?,what other reason than those are ZA alts that attacking our enemy (those who can/and some do attack corsairs)? 1 & 2> Proper RP you say?Let's see some defending/attacking situations in omnicons:
First Zoner-/ZA base when we first attacked it was defending by TAZ, in omicrons? *facepalm* ,we were just trying to free those poor Zoners at Livadia Shipyard..whatever
Second:your situation with [AI],well..from what i had seen from chatlogs, the TBH ship just, said the words Infected,ZA alts and Attack, that's the unfortunate truth we see nowadays in omicrons
*when you get attacked because you are untagged and actually want to help defend and not attack those bases,i would rather join the other side or at least hope those faction players get banned/stripped of official status for these behaving which is even worst than ZA **in the end it all come down to this:"skypelancer" whether it might be official/indies factions who are trying to attack/defend with RP,with no RP and with every wrong RP
People want to believe that God has a plan for them.
They don't wanna believe that anyone else does..
