That's like, your opinion man. But even if, say, I wanted to roleplay a SCRA tagged Eagle with flashpoints, would that make any difference to you?

No, but it would to the SCRA faction and that is whose opinion counts when it comes to the SCRA.

Restricted factions usually have some fancy stuff and fancy privileges (I dont think being able to shoot everybody is a privilege, because it goes both ways, but still). In the hands of the average discovery player they'll cause pains.
You can usually keep a knife without too many problems, but a gun requires registration.
And again, most of the restricted factions are unique in terms of roleplay experiences, and even though it's all free here, I'd say it's their intellectual property. Most of the factions are Digital Anvil's intellectual property, but this all was created by players. A restriction or two for these two reasons is perfectly fine, imho.
- Can only use fighters (maybe bombers)
- Can only operate in the Omegas (maybe Omicrons)
- Maybe add a few more restrictions about engagements
I don't know why people are so angry. Just because a few players want to try out their faction without joining their skype chat.
"Because it's their own faction, they created it and worked hard for it!"
Do you think leading a vanilla faction is easier? What if Joe would say "soru, LN is now a closed faction. Admins will delete every indie ship. Go and apply ))"
Ps.: I was a member of the SCRA, so don't take the above mentioned example as a "Q_Q they won't let me in Q_Q".

Not a question of leadership, mate. It's about creating a valid roleplay premise for something entirely new in the game. Here's a question for y'all, most of these restricted factions were made back in the old days. What are the chances of another faction like these, with a completely new premise, new roleplay, new background and such becoming a restricted official faction now?

Don't think any of 'em are... If you can find an example of them breaking the rules, then do what needs to be done when people break the rules. If an RoS member did something which isn't allowed within the rules (especially if it had a negative effect on other people's gameplay) then I'd spend time yelling at them.

I don't think he meant actual breaking of the rules but the imbalance in freedom that some special IDs allow and restricts to the others.
