If a trader gets killed, he'll respawn with a Pirate ID. Rephack and everything. How's that?
Can't beat them? Join them. Repeat until you learn. Sounds good to me.

The lore would be that a pirate would rather overtake a tradeship after conquering it.

So the ship should get the pirate's ID after respawning.

Why is it, that everyone always thinks the traders have to bend over all the time?
If the Devs finally gave them a chance to fight back or a better chance at fleeing (CMs for all trade ships for example) I'd understand some of the more harsh demands.

But I saw a pirate demanding 3 mio from a freighter just a short time ago.
That makes me wonder in what way that is anywhere near "fair" or "reasonable".
Even for a transports that's quite a lot. If I were on a pirate ship I'd still be demanding 500 credits per cargounit or something...Or freight demands. Or anything.

Pirates complain about pissed off traders who are unwilling to RP as they will only be shot at anyway, traders complain about pirates who are unwilling to RP as they always suspect the trader to be calling for help.
And the trader always has the shorter straw to pick.

pirate: "Trader! Bend over!"

Is this still a demand?

If "cut your engines" is a demand, and I comply with engine-kill, can they still attack me?

How many demands do pirates get to make?

Cut engines is not a demand, theorically you have to ask for credits or cargo, the ID states ( or stated) it

so you can't attack just because I refuse to cut my engines?

Once after stopping I was ordered to decide in 10 seconds, whether to die during escape attempt or die while fighting. That was neither credits, nor cargo. Is that an invalid demand then?

They can attack you if you refuse to cut your engines (since RP has been satisfied).

They cannot destroy you for refusing to cut your engines. They need to make a proper demand first.

Surprised you don't know this, given how long you've been here...

As long as these roles are being played by humans, they'll never be played perfect, cause humans aren't. Trying to fix this issue is pointless.
