What's with the nerfs on BW ships? Aren't they kind of like civilian ships for everyone who isn't house military or house corp?

GMG/IMG/Zoner/Junker? Aren't those the factions who should be most proficient with BW ships?

Why nerfs on some pirate groups but not others? What makes the Hessians/Bundschuh/Hackers/etc better at using BW tech than Mollys/Rogues/etc?

AI and Wilde get no nerf, but the BHG gets full nerf?

Mollys, rogues, etc have sammaels. Sabre with sammaels is doom machine.

Power Usage: 61 u/round

.87 Sammael:
Hull Damage: 292 /round
Power Usage: 83 u/round

.86 Vengeance:
Hull Damage: 255 /round

.87 Vengeance:
Hull Damage: 273 /round
Power Usage: 55 u/round

In general, 99% of the guns in .87 received a buff.

However, Rogue ships are meant to be bulky, large and slow, while their weaponry is meant to be strong/advanced. And since they abused the 90% BW tech in .86 so much, they got punished with 75% nerf. /irony off

/edit: Though, as LR leader I got to admit that I don't care about BW tech, since I've mostly used pure tech in the past. Which was actually well balanced with the Sammael's advantage in .86. But now that this advantage is gone, I don't dare to fly my Rogues in Lolberty anymore. And I highly doubt that the Sabre + Sammaels combination was that op, since I've never seen anyone using it. I just got the fear, that the Rogue indie population will decrease even more with that nerf. Because people's faction choice often depends on the tech.

I see IMG got green cell for BW ships, what makes sense, but doesn't that faction already have quite a number of good tech cells?

100%: Colonial 3.03 guns, own 4.0 guns, own snubs, own larger ships including Battletransport, Gunboat and Battlecruiser, Sirian civilian and Generic stuff - CTE snubs, Renzu snubs, Flashpoints, Purples...
90%: borderworld ships - Sabres, Cutlasses, BW gunships, Colonial Capitals, Nyxes, Pythos, Mantas, Bnose, Orca, BHG Bomber, Buckshots, Reavers, Rheinland Light and Heavy civilian ships - Ragnar, Tigershark, Behemoth, Uruz, Bretonia Light and Heavy civilian ships - Clydesdale, Percheron, Shire
75%: Bretonia Civilian 5.0 guns, Rheinland Civilian 3.03 guns, Zoner 5.88 guns, Zoner ships - from snubs through transports up to gunboat.


My proposition: Give house corporations more cells, but if it's impossible due to balance then remove Bretonian/Rheinland cell for House Civilian guns for IMG totally. After all they're meant for House Corporations, and IMG already has far more available guns than majority of corps.

Nerf Bretonian/Rheinland light/heavy ships to 75% due to the balance, inRP it'll signify IMG has some connections with those Houses, but they aren't that strong.


Proposed changes wouldn't even harm IMG as they have cell for the same 3.03 refire rate Colonial guns, 5.88 Zoner ones, and got own battletransport in that version - they no longer need to rely on Uruz and Shire.

It'd ensure equipment meant for House corporations is used by the developer love-wise less lucky corps instead of enjoying plenty of other tech options Guild.
