I played Duke Nukem back in the 2D days and thought it was awesome...
Oh, and then there was Commander Keen! A fun way to roast some taters.
But, the game that HOOKED me and got me hard-core gaming from then on was Privateer.
I played through the original game and the Righteous Fire update so many times and for so long I thought my wife would leave me.
Ever since then Chris Roberts had promised us and updated version. It seemed that Chris' desire was to make a Privateer-like game that was open ended and available on to the masses, like a MMORPG, and ever since he announced that vision I dreamed of flying around to various remote outposts and sitting in the bar having drinks with aliens.
Although Discovery Freelancer isn't fully what Chris invisioned it sure is enough.
I've played many MMO's and spent tons of time exploring other worlds, but the great openness of space is where it's at... for me.
Homeworld 2
Max Payne 2
Half-Life 2
Battlezone 2
Portal
Dead Space
Colony Wars serie on Playstation 1
Wipeout serie
Abe Odyssee
Project Nomad
Dawn of War serie
Hummm... i think that's all for me.
"Os iusti meditabitur sapientiam et lingua eius loquetur indicium." The mouth of the Just annouce the Wisdom and his tongue proclaims the Justice.
Multiplayer-
Battlefield 1942-plus those great mods for it, Desert combat and PIRATES!!!
and also
AoE2-ancient and still one of the best strategy games!
Single player
Sid Meyers PIRATES!-yeah laugh, but it is still great! Especially when the FL server or IP is down.
