Acceleration is not measured in m/s.
Strafe speed matters. Otherwise there wouldn't have been that much complaints about Sabre OP'ness (in some previous versions).
Cougar still has less strafe speed than every single snub out there. It was done on purpose for 4.87.
Cougar has 116 accelerate, usual bombers have 80, VHFs - 133, strafe speed doesnt matter because in fight you strafe in all 4 directions

No, it has less strafe force, which is not the only factor that affects strafe acceleration. As belarusich has already pointed out, mass stats matter too. Unfortunately, I'm too inept to find out where you get mass stats for each ship to compare.
As for the original topic. The cougar does strafe a little slower than last version, though it still seems too fast to me.
My statement is still valid. Cougar has a bit higher strafe acceleration than most bombers, and has slower strafe speed than every ship that is even remotely relevant to the case. It also turns like a freighter.
It looks like some caps with no cover got blown up by few bombers, so people are crying nerfs, again. Like the last "bombers vs capitals" thread. Nothing new or surprising, honestly.

You are quoting some arbitrary numbers. 116 of what exactly?
Yeah, sure, strafe speed totally doesn't matter ...

strafe speed matters when you strafe in ONE direction only.
Do you strafe in 1 direction in snub combat? or you rapidly press WASD(or keys which you use to strafe) to strafe and avoid enemy's shots?

Good thing you are not biased as the main group of players using them currently.
As to Conundrum, Cougars having OP strafing is not a new issue. It was acknowledged by the balance devs (read: aerelm) and supposedly fixed. Maybe Blodo got the numbers wrong.

HOLY *****! So they were teaching me the wrong stuff at school this WHOLE TIME!?
Mother of god. I was told that the acceleration experienced due to earth's gravity was 9.8 m/s²
By the way, here is some interesting stuff for those who believe acceleration is not measured in m/s http://physics.info/acceleration/
Speed is measured in metres per second
acceleration is the rate of change of metres per second - and you correctly quoted it as metres per second squared, or the easier to understand version - metres per second per second.
In the frame of context of human experience, acceleration is not part of our make up. We have an inbuilt sense of time and speed (we can see the car that is going slowly, and on a different day, see the same car travelling faster). However, we do not perceive acceleration as acceleration. Our brains divide it into time and speed. We look at a horse race and we say 'the winning horse was faster', not 'the winning horse accelerated faster'.
Meanwhile, back at the thread.
Cougars having good strafe? Excellent. Anything that reduces skinlancer is a good thing. Strafe does not win fights, aim does: the best pilot can make the space boat go where he wants, but not necessarily the fall of shot. All that you need to do against a strafing craft is aim a little further laterally. In fact, start wide and then drag it back in, whilst chain-firing, get your eye in against that pilot, and then make him suck space.

Don't know about you but i perceive acceleration just fine, i am a driver, you can't not perceive acceleration.
At thread:
Cut the bull, you all know the cougar is op, and bombers are op as a class anyway so stop being selfish and let others have fun too. No, you are not the only ones who have to win fights.
The bomber is ok, deal with it. It is not OP because it its size and shape. Can someone compare the size to the Roc?
In the same fashion that people deal with Bret Cruiser GB handling and lack of hitbox in the middle of the ship together with the wrong adjusted crosshair spot that guarantees missing and Gallic Cruiser BC size and handling.
The only OP ship in the whole breton liberty gallic mess is the breton cruiser.
