yes, i agree he should leave system , empty, go somewhere else, my question to you guys is rule 3.4, where it says if a player docks in a fight... what if you tried to pirate/kill him and he docks at a base which is his end destination anyway, does that still count as a pvp death because he docked?, but what if that was where he intended to go anyway, does he now have to leave for 2 hours?
Nope Trade vessels are exempt from the pvp death by docking in a fight rule.

Well. with any rule heresay I check the rules on here first. The rules on here are absolute and binding. And are only overruled by an ID if the ID states otherwise.
And by trade vessel I assume any vessel that is meant for hauling goods and is described as such in the ship's infocard. Including Transports.
Freighters: Trader ships with cargo holds smaller than 650 units
Transports: Trader ships with cargo holds larger than 650 units, including Liners
and the 10 min grace periode was removed in the last rule update.
before that it was in the server rules.
I am not a native English Speaker, so i make grammar errors.
But it annoys me when people make silly comments about that... especially brits who for the most part can't speak their own language let alone anyone elses!

perhaps a dev/admin/god like person can clarify the transport rule?
(oops i just realised i prob hijacked the original posts query, sorry, didn't mean to)
I´m not dev/admin/god like person, but is is quite clear to me:
Quote:3.4 Fleeing from combat and then docking at a station or planet while you are in range of the ship you were fighting counts as PvP death. Trade vessels are exempt from this rule.
Ships & Systems Classification
For the purpose of server rules, the following ship categories are defined:
# Fighters: Light Fighters, Heavy Fighters, Very Heavy Fighters, Super Heavy Fighters and Bombers
# Freighters: Trader ships with cargo holds smaller than 650 units
# Transports: Trader ships with cargo holds larger than 650 units, including Liners
# Cruisers: Destroyers, Cruisers and Battlecruisers
# Battleships: Battleships, Dreadnoughts, Juggernauts and Carriers
# Capital Ships: Gunboats, all Cruisers and all Battleships

Killing a trader who refused to pay a fine is a part of piracy roleplay. And being able to respawn and re-haul shouldn't be allowed.
So, may I please request an amendment to the rules with either the addition of the clause that if you die and respawn you have to leave hauling no cargo, or just not be allowed to respawn into the system at all. I'm sure a 2 hour break from trading would do them good.
I don't know why it is a problem to let the one that you beat before pass (even with cargo). You had your success. You won. He lost. Let him play the game the way he wants to play it (as a transport) and be happy that he doesn't wait for 3 minutes, then log his GB and screws you over. Or call a gankfleet, but only wants to go on with what he was doing.
You played the game the way you wanted to play it before. He lost in that interaction. People should not be motivated to repeat that same process to the same player again, but that is just my personal opinion as someone who generally respects that different people like different parts of this game.
It is (as usual) about being nice to each other. Despite the 10 minutes clause was removed, I don´t see as a big problem to let trader leave the system with empty cargo hold because lot of people have only one trader char. Especially if he asks you politely to let him go.
On the other hand I as well don´t see problem to pirate multiple times trader which is stupid enough to go more than once same way in short time despite he knows there is a pirate and is not willing to pay him.
It just sounds to me as if you want to ruin people's days.
Just looking at how you said it, I mean.
"I KILLED A GUY IN A GAME, HE NEEDS TO STOP DOING THINGS"
If he had last docked in a completely different system, you wouldn't be having this problem.
Traders have long been excempt from pvpdeath for the purpose of getting out of system, etc.
They have also had the ability to return with the same ship some half hour later IIRC. (though they usually don't, to avoid the pirate).
I fail to see what your problem is.
Unless, indeed, I nailed it the first sentence.
