Should we remove cloaks?

Cloaking system should have his opponent, something like jammer
Ship with this jammer could not be fitted with a cloaking system.
That possibility could prevent trolls in distortions of events or other RP affairs.

I wouldn't remove cloaks but limit them to specific ID's mainly the intellgence factions, order, nomads and wild/aoji, you know the factions who have links to the nomads or otherwise have access to classified alien tech.

Naturally only the nomads would have the limitless cloaks, everyone else would have time limited cloaks without fuel requirements, having them drain shield and weapon energy is sufficient.

I wouldn't be opposed to this. Would help the intelligence factions after they took a hit with the ID rules change recently.

Guns and chat are used to troll, those shouldn't be removed either.

I like the variety they brought and the ability for players to influence the economy in new ways. But cloaks and jump drives being everywhere doesn't make sense within the lore. I'd be more interested in seeing Armor Mk IX and X and other things that make sense in the lore, like things that I'm not smart enough to think of.

The problem is that many people use it to troll. And why? Mostly because the members are new and test their stuff.
But i also think because cloaks consumes so many fuel, that there is no time left to RP while you are cloaked, just like you can't flee from an fight with it. The cloak gives you only one chance today... Decloak and pew, not more. And thats bad.

Decrease the fuel consumption would not fix the problem it self, but it would give you more time to decide, react and to RP.
The cloak should be part of the internal equipment which gives you the possibility to mount an cd again + The cloaking device cannot be harmed (I lost already two cruiser cloaks, which is very annoying by the way). In this chase there could be an chance to flee from an combat if you cm cd's, doesn't work always.

It is definitely annoying if an battleship decloaks directly behind you and you don't have time for RP. But this would be reduced if only "official factions and SRP ships" could use cloaks or also caps. I know it's hard, but think about it. This would increase the amount of offical members and the people would pay much more attention to RP and also fair play, if there is only one way to get an cap-permission via promotions or something. For example, the K'hara. They have infinite cloak and they don't use it to troll, or? Because it was hard to become an K'hara member. New members would also learn much faster to RP.

Cloaks don't need more nerfs nor should they be removed.

I'm glad someone is unopposed to my idea, the intel factions are fun to play but at times you feel like glorified police and being unable to fly tagged ships to RP intel gathering must be a pain for the activity tracker.

I dont think its a pressing matter, infact it is still a rule violation to simply uncloak and shoot somebody. Having said all that, I think its a good idea to give the covert ops a little boost, i mean they can't be covert if they can always be seen? but I think it should stay at the market but for a very high price. Also I think the houses should deem it contraband so that only official ones can hold them ( legaly )

You do know that he only way to lose equipment is to dock after you've lost it in a battle?

In future if you lose your cloak, DO NOT DOCK, fly into a planet, respawn, your cloak magically appears back on your ship, along with any other equipment you lost in battle.
