I don't like current scanners but your proposal is even worse.

To be more specific:

Current stats:

Scanner, 8k radar, 2k cargo. $500 --to much range for current price

Deep Scanner, 14k radar, 4k cargo $14,750 --to cheap for its stats.

Cargo Scanner, 11k radar, 6k cargo. $16,450--to cheap

Advanced Deep Scanner, 17k radar, 2k cargo. $82,250--to cheap--currently best scanner for traders

Advanced Cargo Scanner, 8k radar, 8k cargo. $274,500--not better enough against current Cargo Scanner--tell me one reason why should we buy it??

Battleship/Spyglass Scanner 20k radar, 3k cargo. $250M--Really?? Are you serious???
24.917.750 credits difference +25% nerf against Advanced Deep Scanner for what???
You have to be stupid to buy it.

Deep Scanner, Cargo Scanner----currently this two are good but to cheap
Scanner---is currently goood because it is to cheap for its stats, this is basic scanner it should be cheap but with low range.

Also one more thing, when my scanner detect some player at lets say 17k range, why can't I see him where is he flying?? My pointer works when he is closer than 10k??
How about if I see him at 17k range I can mark him and the pointer Will show in right direction....that would be nice.

Yeah sorry but shortening the ranges will not make anything better. This is so much worse now. All of you lane pirates so worried about never getting anyone coming along the lane due to BS scanners are just acting out scenarios in your heads and taking it out on the rest of us. You'd argue that increased range allows ships to avoid interaction? Yes sometimes it does. Many other times, it lets you FIND ships easier, thus increasing interaction. It seems lane pirates can only think in terms of what effects them.

The scanners of 4 months ago were perfect. Anyone could mount a BS scanner. Any ship.. No nerf. All things were equal. Trader has a BS scanner? So do the pirates. Look at the cost! They all paid for them, and worked for them. Not everyone will have them, so sometimes you have a decisive advantage over the other, regardless of your role. Sometimes you might be the disadvantaged one, but hey, something to work on fixing right? And many times the odds were even. If you only pick the short lanes to camp on, and a trader could see you at 25k out, and not take the lane, you should have gone to a longer lane. Even with the BS scanner range, there was not always a guarantee it would work. Be ready to intercept instead of being lazy and blaming scanners. If they decided to go around, and the pirates were equal to them in range, there's just as much a chance they could be successfully tracked, as not. If they had less range, well cry me a river. Until just recently even a bomber pirate could get one and fix that problem. Why they lobbied to take away their own ability to compete is beyond me. Then, the nerf wasn't good enough. Traders still used them anyways. And Pirates like me. Nope, these players are enjoying themselves a little too much. Don't they know that traders are OBLIGATED to take the lanes and submit to piracy??? How dare they try to avoid piracy?? (as a trader would). Or in my case, how dare I try to catch a ship, with a BS scanner, by using one as well???

Imagine what would happen tomorrow, if tonight they switched it back to no nerf and 25k range.

Mad BS scanner gold rush. The value would skyrocket. I saw people offering 100 mil for one now. That's so sad compared to months ago when you could sell one for 200 mil second hand easily. If people had fleets of ships they wanted outfitted with the best, they worked on it. Why was this so bad when ANYONE could do the same? Any lane pirate that was not using a BS scanner and complaining about others doing so, when they could have too, was an idiot. If you want just RP, go sit in front of Manhattan. If you want to win, figure it out, instead of stomping on people that did.

Now the scanners are totally ruined. I lost 8k in margin (not to mention what they just did to the codes firing rate and stats) and it makes a big difference. but that was compared to ships with the advanced deeps scanner. if others had BS scanners, I was man enough to suck it up instead of going and posting threads calling those players CANCER's to disco. Well everyone who complained about the scanners in the first can be thanked for ruining them now. Now just to keep 3 k advantage i take a power nerf. that was the point of working to get it! Its not worth it anymore. Which means if my best option is to give up that advantage, well that's not an option at all. That takes the fun right out of it. If I had never known the difference, and only started playing yesterday...well I dunno. But I have used the BS scanner as it was since last year and I'm not going to let my char get totally rearranged and have its **** clipped just to appease lane pirates, that as far as I'm concerned, shot themselves in the foot and can't admit it.

Now we have a totally OP scanner system, where bombers can get 17k range with no nerf for less than a million bucks, but somehow only Battleships can muster enough power for the 3 extra K and it costs 250 million brand new. I bit my lip and deal with the power nerf, it was a fair compromise if I had to give up something. So much for that. And for the record, I harbor no ill will or anger towards the admins or devs, but I think they simply made a bad call on this.
