As I told you, there is not much of a medical service in the Junker communities round Texas jet.
Glad you got to check in on folks at Beaumont. And be careful round the `casts or Rouges.
Im not sure about them myselfe. They might invite you to a drink one day, be your best ally on the second and sell you to slavers on the third. And as we do not trade in contraband we do not deal much with them.
Of course we will offer medical supplies and support to all in need, but better always be careful arount them, too.
Im sorry if I sound like some Grandpa now, but I sure hope you picked a different dress while at Beaumont or I will have go be sure to have a headstart before my Crewmen. *laughs and winks*.
I sent you an encoded and personal message via ComNet with some codes, I hope you like having a cey to dock 3.
Access to the Haven is set as described, but we do not have much space at the moment for something else than construction. This will change as soon as Core 2 is reached and we begin interior construction of the Clinic.
If you´d like to help, we still need a lot of filtersets from Cold Bay, and some of my men have superstitions about the space around the depot. They claim they can hear the cries of our friends while flying out that way. And of course, we still need a lot of stuff from Bretonia. Heat Sinks and High Performance Alloys, as well as a huge load of industrial Hardware. We pick up last mostely at Rochester in new York. Be careful about Xeno Pilots if you fly that way.
Yes, I know... I sound overly cautious.
Doreen, I gave my word to Doc Holiday that you would be safe here. And Im not one to break my Word. But I trust in your ability to ceep out of difficulties. Dont proove me wrong, will you ?
So far the negotiations with the various outlawed groups and factions in Texas and the surrounding systems have prooven difficult but fruitful. While Lane Hackers have little in commmon and little contact with us I have managed to strike a Deal with the Liberty Rogues. Our Junker Crews will be safe from all but the most crazed members of the LR , and our Freelance Traders can keep a neutral stance while at least not being targeted more than everybody else.
I suppose the services you and our Paramedics can offer proved to be the final argument here. The Rogues can be a harsh lot, but I think we should be safe from violence here.
So : If a Rogue hails you and asks for assistance : ceep a watchful eye open for any Liberty Force Ships but feel free to uphold a Doctors Oath.
The Rogues will have no docking acces to the Haven, so if you feel any need for stationary treatment call an ambulance and inform me, so I can in turn inform the Rogue Underboss and see that the Rogue Pilot is discreetly treated and transfered to a Rogue base without any problems.
Also : Construction on the Haven continues at a fine pace. Another day or two and we will finaly begin the construction of the Clinic.
I wanted to show you something, Chief Resident Nagger :
I like it, Flynn. Never had my own seal so it's an honor to have one. Maybe I am finally moving up in the world.
The Rogues don't bother me too much. I know you're concerned about my safety, the possibility that I end up a slave and such but rest assured that won't happen. If Rogues want service, they'll have to be nice like everyone else.
It's an honor knowing that my services are helping make this possible. From time to time, I will use my own ship as I can carry quite a bit in it AND it's comfy on a long trip. Once the base is built, I'll start on the sick bay there.
And Flynn, once things settle a bit, we need to meet over some dinner. You've already been too kind and I owe you for that. We'll talk soon.
However, as we were discussing the communication silence from Baffin, seems this broadcast here could be the explanation why my brother Flinx and Doc Holliday are not responding :
Well, Doreen, Mr. Tukker tells me you have left with Benjen for a well earned holiday.
Do enjoy it !
When you return I hope to get the Clinic up and working, we are making good progress.
Also the first requests to join us or rely on our services have been issued.
The Sirius Relief Organization will probably open an office at the Haven ,
and Mr. Walker seemed very impressed by our work here. I hope to invite you to a first meeting too.
Also, first questions about caring for refugees or casualties have been issued.
So far nothing official but we will see how this developes.
Come back well rested and take the time to settle down,
we expect much work to arrise soon.
Doreen, Im back from my short visite with Mr. Letourneau to Champagne, and I found some interesting Information and usefull friends. But more about that later.
I just wanted to use this private notice to express my thanks to you about the professional way you handled the emergency with Mr. Walker.
I hope he will recover well ?
We ... No, I am happy that you are here .
Doc Holliday realy sent his best to us, and I wanted to thank you.
I know my friends and crewmembers to be in good care.
And I wanted to tell you that personaly. You are part of the leadership here, but you are flesh and blood too.
I know what its like to be responsible, and so I think it appropriate that you hear it from me : Good work.
So ... do I get to dine with my Chief Resident ?
Core 3 has been constructed, and we are removing the last scaffolding just now. The Interior has been set up as close to the specifications we had but there is still space to spend.
I have currently still reserved about 5000 units worth of modular space for your use, and we already have most supplies we need at the Haven.
Perhaps a place for you and Benjen too , if you like it ?
We will have a private landing spot on the ground, and I would prefer not only to have a magnetcabine line to Jacinto City but housing, schooling and all other needs for patients and staff close, too.
After all, if we get 5000 refugees from Leeds for excemple, we need to find ways to show them normal life is still possible... thats the whole idea behind the resort. Getting rehab, education ... and time to mend.
Oh, Im straying from Omicron to Omega again.
Looking forward to seeing you smile at all the visitors as soon as we officially open the Clinic.
*winks*
It's nice to wake-up to such accolades. They make me feel like I'm home again.
Mr. Walker will be just fine. He is recovering from his injuries and after some rest, he will be back to himself. Your own people were instrumental as well. When blood supplies ran short, all of them rolled up there sleeves.
Leadership...something I've never been a part of. I'm just a doctor and not much else. I'm not a diplomat or a soldier but being chief resident will be just fine.
I like the Jacinto City idea. It would be nicer indeed. I'll be looking there for something shortly as it seems the crowd there isn't so unruly.
*she smiles*
And yes, Fynn, I would be honored to dine with you. Just tell me when and where. I already have an outfit for the occasion.
Well, even though the final organization of the opening ceremony is quite time consuming I have managed to find a good Skipper for the Tinkers.Pride, so I am free for office Work and such chores. Meaning that Im eager to get out of the Haven at any opportunity.
So , what about the restaurant I talked about , at Jacinto City ?
Today or tomorrow, or someday this week if you find the time. After all, Benjen has his own rights to his mothers time, too.
Even though I sometimes feel that I have about 600 Children, most of them tend to be self- sufficient and behave like adults. Ok... at least like grown-up Junkers *laughs*
Im free to delegate my time , so I will follow your lead.
Just pass me a message, as the owner of the Zoner restaurant is a friend he assured me we will have a free table any time we need it as long as his place is not flooded by my crewmen, and I think I can do something there.
She smiles
Fynn, I would LOVE to try out that restaurant in Jacinto City. Tomorrow will be fine.
Benny will be OK if I take a little time to get out a bit. Make the reservation and I'll be there.
