lol but...
Rheinland is not Germany. I'm really sick of this.

The topic came up today, while working, about who does what better, or more specifically who invented what. Of course, my mexican comrades were completely convinced that they did everything better than americans (everything but work, if you ask me), and in response I was about to claim how we germans were these geniuses that invented airplanes and submarines and wagons for folks (cookie for getting that one).
Then I corrected myself, and went "Nah, germans dont invent things, we just make everything else better. We didnt invent the airplane, the wright brothers did that, and they're english - but we made the first jet engine. We didnt invent the submarine, first one was the HL Hunley in the civil war, but we did perfect submarine warfare with the uboat. We didnt invent the bomb, but we did turn it into the atomic bomb."
So does this line of thinking extend to our future fatherlanders? Could be an interesting discussion, thought I, so I says to myself let's post and see what people come up with.
We certainly do asteroid pinballing better than anyone else, eh?
I'm a 47 old German.
Your statement 'Germans do not invent things' concerns me.
But that you as a 'youngster' bring up all the Nazi stuff (again) is worse.
By the way: Ever took a look at the credits of Freelancer - be surprised.
And regarding German inventions: Computer, Aspirin, LED (Siemens)
Airbag, Chipcard, MP3 (Fraunhofer Institute), Radio controlled watch (Junghans).
Beside that the Germans build and tore down the Wall.
Anyway: Please stop mixing up the Freelancer 'Rheinland' with the real Germany, Danke.
You're taking my statement a little too literally =P I'm well aware that we've invented our share of things as well. Also, I dont think I made any nazi references - Hitler wasnt even german, he was austrian.
Your image didnt link either, but I do know that, despite what we'd like to think, germans did not invent beer. The first beer was made in ancient egypt by complete accident.

Now I have this other brand and it is loud as hell. Cheaper but loud. And it sometimes doesn't wash as well. I miss you Miele dishwasher, I miss you! *brakes down in tears*
Imagines a Miele dishwasher with Cruiser Turrets and triple armour.

Must have been a Bretonian refugee turned engineer ...
Well, reliability and over - engineering.
And a certain affinity to be stubborn if we know that we are right.
Jup, sounds like our best traits distilled and purified.
Sadly no logistic or trade genius is affixed commonly. *sighs*
Well... at least we evaded any buffs/nerfs and balancing attempts in RL.
Oh my... we have the EU - we did not evade the balancing !
*breaks down in tears too*
Sry, don´t know ´nuff about the Rheinland ships and tech in DSICO terms to give 2 cents there...
Seriously, I'm not sure whether you talk about reality or the game...
However, since it's posted in the RP section, I suppose it's about the game. They do everything better, yet the Rheinland Microsoft displayed is a stereotype postwar one. So eventhough they're better at everything, they'll always lose, because they're bad guys.
