Only reinforces my point regarding Junkers being Salvagers first, and not solely Cadamine smugglers ( which is what people are constantly doing, now what is written in lore, again )

You have been proven wrong.
Well done.
Heres the funny thing though:
The standard route is Running premium scrap up to Alpha, and Cardi back down, in case you didn't know.
So that's 50% smuggling, 50% scrapping.
So people aren't exclusively smuggling like you seem to think.

The id as it is, is kinda old. but from a standpoint of inclusiveness I would only change the id in hopes to stimulate that factions activity in the independent realm and hopes of getting and official group going again. And not just on the merit that it may benefit the other more active factions.
conflict kinda drives the place, not that wed need another reason, as junkers, to run into trouble with...say ..... anyone or anything.
An extract from the Beaumont Base infocard, maybe that does some explaining.
Quote:Disgruntled Xenos seeking to displace their Junker competitors in the cardamine trade launch sporadic attacks against Beaumont; though the occasional missile breaches the perimeter, no serious harm has yet been caused. Said cardamine often changes hands here; drug runners hailing from as far away as the Edge Worlds make port here to fuel Liberty's orange dream.
It is not directly said that Junkers themselves move the stuff, but they definitely deal with it on their bases.
Smuggling cardamine has never been explicitly stated in vanilla FL lore as a primary activity for the faction. What -has- been explicitly stated is that junkers are a quasilegal faction which uses the scrap fields and salvaging operations as a legal cover while operating black markets and harboring unlawfuls of other factions on their bases.
In fact, in vanilla FL, cardamine was only moved (at least, according to npc responses) by outcasts, lane hackers, and liberty rogues.
It's much more likely that the junkers black markets sold things like weapons and supplies for unlawfuls who used their bases as safe havens from lawful forces.
Also, this is the first I've heard of hellfire legion having an issue with junkers - what's that all about?

Please tell me more about how admin approved FL Hook plugins and player utilising it is setting the lore for faction being more important than the lore written by Digital Anvil and Disco devs.
Because if so, Junkers players have ben caught redhanded more times than it is needed to brand whole faction as smugglers and nothing more.
The lore states that Junkers are salvagers firstly, dealers in contraband, not specifically Cardamine, secondly.

Sure, they primarily scrap, that dosent mean they only scrap stuff as you incorrectly assume

I suppose it is up to interpretation here. Both sides have their points. The ingame lore does not specifically state that Junkers move cardamine themselves, but neither does it refute it. It sounds reasonable that Junkers smuggle it in freighters rather than in large transports because of the risk of getting caught.
At the same time I imagine that independent contractors or even freelancers in disguise suit perfectly as well.
I said that junkers smugg cardimine, I didnt say its their proffession - but its one of the reasons why HF hates them. To the point of quasi-lawful point, They are ( to me atleast ) close in being very zonerish, but being more orginized - Enemies are plenty to find. Vanilla lore is not Discovery lore, Just thought I'd mention that.
