This is a private 'thing' and the dudes who do this got family, a job and a private life at all.
And unless you are a developer please do not post here, thank you.
What is that supposed to mean? It didn't make any sense:wacko:
If you check the read-me's of 4.82, 4.83 and 4.84, you could probably get a decent estimate of what kind of time jump there is going to be for the next mod. Igiss likes to keep stuff like that in check. Timelines, system placement...the works.:)

my advice would be to not place a definite age on your characters, instead refer to what stage they are at in life....i.e. teenager, child, middle aged, etc, etc.
that way you don't back yourself into a corner, story wise.
I don't consider myself a developer at all, but theoretically you could call us all developers. What are you getting at by the way? Tenacity is in fact a very talented model builder. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure that makes him a developer of the mod. I designed a few commodity icons for mod development, so we are all developers in our own right.

Good advice, but...For those who have put a solid birth date on their characters, and integrate dates, ect...into their role play for the past 2 years, are going to need to know this info:)

@Dreygon: If you did not noticed this is a developers subforum. Your opinion about any chars on the server is off-topic. Feel free to start a discussion in the aproriate topic.
@13CentKiller: Please quit it, that's already done. We got a lot of discussion threads on this topic. Please feel free to discuss there. Thank you.
There is an estimate timeline for the first public beta as you can get from the submission guidlines.
Please be patience for at least one month as i guess.

yes i did notice this is a developers subforum. the original poster made reference that their question was in reference to the age of one of their characters, therefore i felt inclined to post a comment that was relevant to the original post.

oldsteel just cause you got banned for rengaging 10-15 times, doesnt mean you can act all grumpy on everyone else
Edit: Getting back to the main question, i would hope they move the timeline on a bit but no more then 5 years, Yeh it might ruin peoples bios a bit, but it gives people to add onto their bios aswell making stories on how they defeated that Pesky pirate, or how they survived a attack on their homeworld...

Kress is right, it may be a better place in the mod-discussion forum.
That being said...no one cares Old_Steel. but out.
In the past mod iterations, it's commonly thought of as the year advancing by one. 815AS = 4.83, 814AS = 4.82, etc.
This is usually found in the news items that are included in the new mods. They usually have the new year as the new date, and iterate one year for each mod release.
Hope that helps Tenacity
edit: Also, if you're thinking that because of the addition of several new Gallic systems, that the timeline should shoot forward, the story is that they will come in fully developed, with a newly-discovered/formed JumpHole being the access to those systems.
