President James Powell (Liberty)
Queen Carina (Bretonia)
Shogun Edo (Kusari)
Chancellor Nikolaus Reinhardt (Rheinland - not completely sure about this)
Council of Elders (Corsairs - Elders Montoya, Lucendez, Yanez, and Castillo)
Council of Dons (Outcasts - Dons are owners of Cardamine planatations on Planet Malta)
The governments should be something like:
Liberty - American democracy (I heard it mimics the 1920s time period)
Bretonia - British parliamentary monarchy (1700s-1800s maybe? I don't think the queen is in charge today)
Kusari - Japanese feudalism
Rheinland - German WWII dictatorship
Corsairs - Unknown (I don't know any government that mimics the Corsairs' government)
Outcasts - Italian city-state owners (Families owned the city states of Italy during the Renaissance)
As far as I know, the leaders of the LSF and LN are Director Brian Copeland and Fleet Admiral John Talon respectively. I don't know the others military leaders in the other Houses though.
Carlos Rivera: Corsair Brotherhood Pirate - Retired, shifted to Tripoli Shipyard's Research and Development engineering teams Anthony Cameron: Guild Core Bounty Hunter - Killed in Action, committed suicide after being trapped in Omicron Minor following its destruction Juan Ruiz: Outcast Ghost of Razgriz Pirate - Killed in Action, killed by the Sirius Coalition Revolutionary Army during Bretonian piracy raid Michael Winchester: Liberty Security Force Agent - Missing in Action, likely killed during Rheinland espionage mission or trapped in Rheinland Space Eric McCormick: Order Pilot - Retired, shifted to planetside training of new recruits
quite accurate.
Corsairs are ruled by some... council of ancients. I guess for a real life such example we'd need to go in rather primitive era of the human race to fetch one...

Her Majesty is very much in charge. Recent events in Bretonia had her tightening her hold on power even more with her outlawing the Populist party, the largest opposition party in Parliament. Since then, Prime Minister James Worthington's Royalist government has been little more than a rubber stamp for Her Majesty's policies.
Hopefully that clears up any Bretonian confusion...
Actually, the word "senator" is a Latin term meaning "Elder." The Corsair Council tries to mimic the Roman Senate minus the Proconsuls and Executives. ( I attempted to create a lower house called the Centuriate a while back, along with specific powers and obligations, but that fell through. Probably because people didn't want that much complexity. A simple Council is sufficient for our Roleplay.)
Also, the Corsair Elders are Montoya, Lucendez, Maniaco, Sephardi, Laowai, Muleo, Cordova, Gentle and the Benitez have recently returned, which means they would probably at least send Carlos along with one or two reps. (sorry if I forgot someone or misspelled someone's name :$)
Also note that this list is subject to change frequently. So just referring to them as "The Corsair Council" is probably a safe idea.
"The thirteen saloons that had lined the one street of Seney had not left a trace. The foundations of the Mansion House hotel stuck up above the ground. The stone was chipped and split by the fire. It was all that was left of the town of Seney. Even the surface had been burned off the ground.
Nick looked at the burned-over stretch of hillside, where he had expected to find the scattered houses of the town and then walked down the railroad track to the bridge over the river. The river was there."
Sorry for the double post, but I was curious as to political parties of Liberty.
We know about Bretonian's populists and royalists, Rhienland's democrats vs. fascists (Or alleged fascists), Kusari has the Blood Dragons and GC, what about Liberty?
Knee jerk reaction is to model them after the Dems and Repubs from real life. (My opinion is they should be named the "Plutocrats" and the "Oligarcans," but that's prolly because I have a sick sense of humor.)

virus made it some sort of ultra-nazi state after he took it over, including features that even top the 3. Reich off. For example a whole _church_ that is dedicated to the chancellor (called the "god-chancellor") only who is being mystified and rumored to live longer than others etc.
Don't try to compare it to any german state. there simply aint any comparability, since the current rheinland government even leaves hitler-germany behind.
I really, really don't like that warhammer-40k stuff. but for some reason most of the other ppl even find the chancellor's church to be a good idea, and want an ID only for that church implemented. *headdesk*
Ingame however, the RM are fascists who praise the "god chancellor" while all other unlawful factions become good guys without having much influence on it. The red hessian army are the revolutionary democrats, the bundschuh which is basically socialist/communist, becomes the voice of the people and workers and the political motor of rheinlands "alternative" factions, seeking for democracy rather then a socialistic planned economy.

I meant in real life (yes Trevelyan, you were right). In the UK today, the queen is just a symbol if I'm not mistaken. The real power lies with the Prime Minister I think.

Quite right, but she does still get her face on multiple currencies world wide.

In my opinion, Liberty would have a large set of political parties less or more popular, with probably an equivalent of the republican government in charge at the moment, which invests much in war economy. There's probably a more democrate-styled party as well, but they must not be very popular at the moment considering all the turmoil in Liberty, which means the people will probably prefer a more militaristic party.
I guess there might be some fascist-oriented ideas, supported by xenos and those who thinks like them for instance.
I dont think the populist movements are very strong... the coalition being the only real populist faction operating in the area, but being a global zone operation organisation, it doesnt really count, or such movements arent strong enough to be considered.
